Or as a gag gift. The DVD Rewinder! Wish i'd seen this before christmas, i remember when we first got our player my sister asked about rewinding it. Heh, also when blockbuster was still using their old cover design at first and all the dvd cases said "Be Kind, Rewind" on the back.

I just got a job in a video store not too long ago.. and.. yes, there are still a few people calling about "We're just happy with our VHS player, do you have a copy of Marylin Monroe's yadda yadda yadda..." and "If I don't rewind my DVD, am I going to get charged?" ... not that we even charge for VHS rewinding..

I have seen so many older people try to re-wind a dvd! It is so funny to see it, no matter how many times I see it I laugh my ass off!!

i can thing of one use for that, making yourself some coasters out of aol disks.
take the lid off the rewinder, trick the thing into thinking the lid is closed, put the disk in upside down, tkae a sharpie and put it on the rewinder.
make a cool spiral designed coaster.

Youd think older people wouldnt be so dumb... Its not like you rewind vynils. Why would you rewind a cd? they're both disk based, the entire media surface is allways visible.

actually...i have a crapped out stereo that (unless you unplug it) remembers where you pressed stop, even when you change CDs, so you DO have to rewind the CD.

Best way to make a cool looking coaster, put a CD in the microwave for about 5 seconds.

My crappy camera really doesn't do all the hairline fractle like cracks justice, its really really cool to do (esp with the lights off) and it doesnt damage your microwave. I tried it with a dvd one time though and the plastic bubbled... so i dont reccomend that.

i would put it in the microwave, but i dont want my family to freak out about it.
i know that forks and stuff dont do anything to it at all.
tinfoil puts on an awesome color light show.
and cds get frail and stuff like that
i might try it sometime when they're not home.
