Heh, I recognize some of those Bengali ones. (Bangladesh and Pakistan speak same language and have a related culture).

Gestures are useful as they don't carry the same risk of mispronunciation ... obviously you'll be familiar with the US "flipping the bird/bone"/mid digit ...

The UK equivalent is 2 fingers - like the "peace" sign, but with knuckles outwards, and was invented specifically to wind up the French - before the battle of Agincourt, the French posted a bounty on anyone delivering those 2 fingers from any English Archer. The translation is therefore "Didn't catch me, you garlic chewing twats!!"

Greece has two similar gestures - first is the which means "sit on this!", second is a fingers spread, palm out motion, the gist of which is "I throw 5h1t in your face".

Italy & Denmark have another 2 - first is flicking the upper incisors with the thumb ("bite me") and brushing the chin with the fingers ... I'm not sure what that one means, but it's pretty insulting

I think that's the first trend I've started on PR! Well, besides using cold cathodes in a computer, obviously.

By the way, to get the font to match everything else under your avatar, use 11pt Arial with no anti-aliasing.

EDIT: I guess it depends on your graphics app; 11pt Arial works great in Photoshop 7 on Win2k. Take a screenshot and type on top of existing text to see what works for you.

P.S. Sorry for the thread hijack!
