It's that dual use thing again ... consider also US vs UK use of "fag", "fanny" & "twat"

ROFL... some of the quotes.... oh man!

Taken out of context some of those quotes could make for a VERY amusing ad campaign for alternative lifestyles!

"The great British faggot is full of flavour and a great belly warmer at this time of year."

Johnny, imagine if we used the word "fanny" for "cheeseburger." Good times will be had by all.

well after taking a look despite my fears of what lies beyond the link

i find this rather interesting, as to the different languages that are used in diffrerent parts of the world , at first i was thinking to myself "what is the family gay and being made fun of for it" but then i took a look and discoveredthat it was something totally different!

different languages and cultures and backgrounds are somewhat a part of my life as we have a wide range of it in my family, so i can understand if anyone gets the wrong idea by looking at it, i'm just a guilty for thinking about it in a different view.

Britain = England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands, + a few islands I've forgotten ... so describing Haggis as "British" is technically correct.

It's also complete bannocks, which is why no-one uses "British" here ...
at a country level we're English, Welsh, Scottish, Ulster Scots, Irish, Northern Irish, etc;
but sometimes our region, island, county or even city is more important, hence being Cornish, a Manxman, a Yorkshireman, a Lancastrian, a Geordie, a Mancunian, etc, etc is _still_ "British" .... but we never use "British". Apart from on our passports.

What is is with modern passports anway? I remember when the "British" passport used to be a leather-bound tome you could smack pesky foreign customs officials round the head with, now it's a plasticky fartarse little thing .... .... I think I'll stop rambling now
