| I have recentyl discovered that throwing my cell phone does not increase the longevity of its life and am unfortunately in the market for a new phone due to its constant back talk and general bantering of satan emmitting from the speaker. I have been looking into getting one of the new sleek camera phones that have been all the rage as of late, but is their anyone out their that knows of a descently priced one that has good options and can work with verizon? Has any of you pimps out their experimented with these phones and found good results? | ||

| I've always been impressed with Samsung phones, great quality, fairly sturdy (dropped mine a lot, and still works. heh). For Verizon, I would check out either the SCH-a670 or the SCH-a610, both are great, just depending on the features you want and the price you are willing to pay. I've had my Samsung phone for almost 2 years (no camera), and it's working just as it were new from the box. | ||

| Well... *cough* unfortunately *cough* I'm still working at the same Verizon Store ![]() You are definitely right, the camera phones have been hot and are the latest rage. For Verizon, you have the VX6000, which has been out the longest, the CDM-8900, and the new Samsung A670. The A670 is the newest one, and has a built in flash. There is also that A610, but it's bigger than you would expect. Right now I'm rocking the 8900 (cause I'm required to), but it's a pretty good phone. The speakerphone leaves much to be desired though. If you can find the A670 in stock somewhere and have the extra $$, then go for it! | ||

| Well after the trouble I had with the crappy Audiovox 8600 I got from Verizon. I read a few reviews and got some good advice from DW and opted for the LG VX6000. It's rated #1 at consumer reports and it's in the top ten at ZDnet. Overall I really like it. Voice quality is as good as my old Qualcomm brick phone. You can use the Sony service to download digital ringtones instead of the cheesy midi stuff. No analog though, if that's important. And the price is good. | ||

The VX600 is most definitely a good phone. It's very solid too, compared to the CDM-8900. The 8900 is a bit light/flimsy...so you really have to be careful about that. Plus I'm not a big fan of the outside LCD on the 8900. A little too dim IMO

| I personally have the LG VX6000, I havn't had any problems with it. (except for user errors ) The image quality isn't bad and you can get it for around $50 after service with Verizon.::Edit:: Go look at my moblog in my sig if you want to see image quality (All my pictures on there are maximum quality from the phone) | ||

Personally I don't care what the latest is...The LG VX6000 is the best phone to come out in some time....It has way less problems then my old motorola T720 and T730...as well as many nokias and kyoceras I have owned...I bought this phone when they first came out and they were MEGA expensive and I have been happy since...The money was worth it to get such a good phone...I wish it was CDM sometimes when I am in a remote location and not just a 1x phone but hey we can't have it all..... And hey Iron here is a question for you and your service techs...If I turn on EMS in my service menu whish is Enhanced messaging ....How come I can send an ems but cant recieve them...Does this have to do with the network? And what if anything do you know about free waps ![]()

| I think im gonna go with the LG VX6000. From what i can tell it has a grip of options and itll only cost me 79.99 if i sign up for another 2years and a mail in rebate. They always gotta stick ya huh hehe. Thanks for the hookup with the good reviews and good advice though. Iron is there anyway you can hook a bro up? Like if my phone that i have now were to suddenly stop working and turned it in on the insurance i have, and instead of getting a new one i just opted for the new LG? Would they give me some kind of credit or anything like that? | ||

That is not 100% correct sorry Elf...if you pay for the insurance with Verizon its about 4 dollars a month and its through a diff company...To get a new phone you need to pay a 50 dollar deductible and you can only get the same model you currently carry....that way there is no fraud and people busting their phone when they hate it... Sorry but there is no way to get a free upgrade. I suggest less of a scam and just go talk to your local verizon rep and see what they can work out for ya....IMHO Digi

| Let us know which phone ya get man and how ya like it. Just FYI, we sold out of our last VX6000 on saturday; but it's not like you're gonna come by here and purchase one lol! But yeah, DW said about the insurance is correct. It's about $5 a month w/ a $50 deductable and they swap it out with the same model; unless it has been discontinued. Oh, and I know you said you're gonna go with a 2 year contract. Although the phone tends to be $50 cheaper in price when purchasing on a 2 yr compared to a 1 yr, you also won't be able to upgrade your phone until 22 months into the contract; on a 1 year you can upgrade 10 months into your contract. Most of the time that's not a big deal except for the people who like getting the newest phones. But anyways...good luck on getting your camera phone and hope you like it ![]() | ||
