Default New Toy

I'm sure you all remember a while back when i posted the Swiss Army Knife that sports a USB flash drive.

Well, I finally got one, and i must say i'm quite impressed with it. Granted there's nothing really special about it when you get down to brass tax.

I bought the deluxe version with all the available components (64meg USB flash drive, knife, scissors, ball point pen, red LED, file/screwdriver)

The USB portion has a preloaded password protection and partition creation software and even has an option to create a boot disk for it. Very nice little unit, even has a green LED built into the USB drive to show connectivity and activity. If you got an extra 60 bucks you can drop, i recommend this little trinket for the geek in your family who wants some functionality in his technology.

overall rating:

Sounds pretty awesome. Do they come in anything higher than 64 megs though? I transfer alot more than that usually.

My webcam is on the fritz. i could take some pics with my phone but the quality isn't real great on that. i'll try to get some good digital pics of it tomorow at work to post.

as for the memory ammount they don't have anything more than 64 megs unfortunatley. i looked at all kinds of sites and that's all they made available.

i got it from http://www.swissknifeshop.com

exact link

price was $68.95. At first for the size, it seemed a bit pricey, but after looking at alot of other just plain USB flash drives prices it kind of leveled out. I'll get the pics up tomorow

That's cool stuff.

That's definitely one knife you don't wanna forget in your pocket when you go through airport security though. Man, I'd hate to lose that

Coming soon:

All the press releases I've seen say it'll be available in both 64 and 128MB versions. But the 64MB is the only one for sale right now; the price on the 128MB is still "to be announced".

The above pic is from an Overclocker Cafe review on the 128MB version.

Hmmmm.....

It'd be a nice mod to add one of these:

lol....you'd have the first modded USB pocketknife that I am aware of. Now that would be pimp.

Definately worth the $70.

Like the ability to disconnect the drive from the knife.
Very nice idea there, wonder if they will sell just the expanded flash drives to upgrade the knife..

2 versions (not sure what the difference is...) avalible right here on everyones favorite site. Ok, after looking again, the travel version doesn't have a knife, so its just a swiss army, uh thing. Probably still wouldn't get past those TSA idiots, meanwhile, the guy in line in front of you just got through with 12 lbs of plastic explosive in his shorts...
