DvpSetup.exe Error

Ok not sure where to post this but does anybody WTF this DvpSetup Erro ccured thing is imy soundcard was working fine but now I can't use the microphone.. plaese help I am ready to cover myself in deer blood and go looking for some Microsoft Employee heads

I found this on a site with French (I think it was) translated to English, It is as quoted

"I found a work around. After help from MicroSoft we got there. I found by going to task manager and killing the dvpsetup.exe it would semi let you in you had to wait till the test was almost done(all bars) and close it. it will give a popup about not being full duplex but other then that it works."

Try it at your own risk. It's all I could find after searching for about 35 min. Many people said they found a virus, or had problems with DirectX 9, or had problems with thier MS SideWinder joystick when they had the same problem as you, but I don't know. Good luck, hope it helps.
