Default Car Audio Problem

I've got a question for the audio/car pimps. I notice when playing CD's that there is a rhythmic sort of static, every three seconds or so. It doesn't seem to be related to the music playing. This occurs at all volumes. My car is a 2002 Civic EX with the little round speakers mounted by the review mirrors.

Considering the circumstances of the problem I'm thinking it's either my CD player or the wiring. What do you think?

is it a factory stereo or after market? also it can be RFI noise comming from your spark plug wires. if you have gave the car a tune up recently and used infeiror plug wires you can have that.......or it is a ground loop.

I think I may be experiences a bit of user error here. I took the time to do a little testing in my drive way just now and my suspicions have turned to my cd's. In particular it would seem that my car's cd player was having problems with cd's burned at higher rates. When burning audio cd's I always keep it under 26x and normally will burn at 4x but it one cd in particular had accidently been burned at 40x and was causing some problems. Seems like I've solved my problem but damn is that an embarrasing moment.

I was just about to ask if you had burned the CDs until I finished reading the thread. Chrome's ideas are valid too but the plug wire problem can be eliminated with in-line filters.
