Let go by just by saying that the "don't ask" thread wasn't ment as a "bullcrap" thread. At the time the fold@home site was not counting my work unit. I was not sure it it was anything on my side or pimprigs, (which would account why previewing my sig did not work)therefore I started a thread to see if it was counted. I do not appreciate being put down by any of the members here. Nor the administrators support of this.

Well, I was delt with by Duckwarrior, and I personaly don't think that it was very fair. A lot of people start threads for no reason or go "off topic" thats the point of having a "Anything Goes" posting forum.

Bottomline. Everyone is entitled to their own views, and maybe I put myself out on the line by posting that thread with nonsence, however my goal was stated a few posts later and it should of been respected, not criticized by anyone and CERTAINLY not put down for it by being called:

There is a difference in a thread being "off topic" and being started for no reason. You believe you had a valid reason to start your topic. I do not. I have been here for almost a year and i would never spam a thread out here like that. I don't own these forums. I am a member of them so I will use them for there intended purposes, not to see if my sig works.


Second, you have over a hundred posts so you may have been here for a while. You probably have seen other people get flamed for worthless posts. Why did you not expect to get flamed? We have all been flamed at least a little bit. So either grow a skin and deal with it or watch what the heck you post for it not to happen again, the choice is yours.

You as well should be able to read posts, mine was not directed at you but some of the other stupid comments in that thread, but if you still believe it then you can have it now.

Well, firstly you should have made your intentions known when you were posting the thread. You could have added one more sentence explaining your actions, and I'm pretty sure it would have been acceptable. But even then, you could have just posted somewhere to see if it was working. Or even better than that, just checked your previous posts and looked at your sig to see if it was counted. There was pretty much no reason for a bullcrap thread in the first place.

Secondly, to state that it was possibly PR's fault for it not counting would be ignorant, especially when many others folding sigs work fine. Folding takes a few hours to recognize the WU and update the stats.

Thirdly, I dont see what lasting damage this has done, except for perhaps your rep. But to me, thats your own dang fault from starting the worthless thread in the first place. Your post count is still up, and your not banned. To say that that was harsh, would be a bit strange to me unless Duck physically came to your house and beat you up or something. Saying your post was the same as many other threads in the Anything Goes forum would be pretty stupid to me as well. Granted, there have been a few, such as the "Kyle" thread, but that was also dealt with the same way. Look to that for your example of how we deal with such threads. Your thread had no value in any way, and that would be a waste of bandwidth not only for Glitterkill, but also to the 56k people out there. Us broadbanders didnt see the waste of bandwidth perhaps, but it was a waste of good time trying to figure out what the hell you were trying to do.

PR has always been a close, hard core, no BS community. If you cant handle the flames, dont stay to get burned.

Whichever way you were dealt to by DuckWarrior I am confident his actions were fair.
Defamation Of Character can be part of the process.
It didn't have to be, you have no one to blame but yourself for that.

Yes I have been here a while, infact a little longerthan you. And I remember reading through the fourms the first day (be4 you joined) and seeing people testing their sigs, and people being perfectly fine with it.

Second, you could've just clicked "quick links" then select "my profile". That'll preview your sig in a hurry

Wasnt that the first day? I dont think anyone would find it odd for someon on the first day a forum is opened to be testing their sigs. That would be a great time to work out bugs and issues in the forum. However, this is clearly not the first day. You have been here for a long time, and should realize your actions have consequences. And no, we dont cater to special cases.
