Well a few of us - Me, Zennzzo (most likely depending on how much his rig is gonna cost him this summer), and NoSlak are going to be in Vegas around August 30th-September 3rd area.

Nothing special really going on in terms of conventions and such, but since 3 of us are gonna be there - why not a few more eh? Just some ground rules and misc. info.

Las Vegas hotels almost all as a rule require you to be 21 to make reservations.

We're goin' to relax and raise some hell (maybe even splice into the Luxor's lamp for power to overclock) but I personally at lest stay pickled for nearly my entire stay, only time of the year I drink, and I catch up for a year of not. I mention this incase someone under the age of 21 is thinking about goin' because I'm in "age discriminating" locations my entire stay.

It's suprisingly cheap/expensive to stay in Vegas depending on where you stay and how much you want to play. Last year I dropped over 1500 dollars not including a buffered bar tab I got from a place in Henderson but my dearest mother spent an amazing 80 dollars total beyond air/hotel.

It still gets over 100 degrees out at that time of year. So unless you're like me who actually enjoyed walking city limit to city limit suckin' go juice (Gatorade), might want to think about renting a car or bring your own.

So enough talking - I'll give some numbers:

For most of us.....
$479.80 for 4 nights at the Monte Carlo
$356.00 for Bally's ** (Where I'll probably be staying and NoSlak unless the Rio drops it's prices).
$500 for the Rio (NoSlak swears by this place.)
$516 for the Luxor (Stayed here last year, and actually cheaper if you book directly from their webpage)

For the pimps with to much money.
$660 dollars for the Mandalay
$886.00 for the Venecian
$1036.00 for the Bellagio

For the po' pimps that will need to pawn their hoes to get there (or want to save every penny for blackjack and strippers and liquor)

Circus Circus
Wild Wild West
and many many more offer rooms in the 40-50 buck a night range totally 160-200.

Well that's about all - come if you want, I and NoSlak will be happy to supply you with plenty of links of stuff to do/stay with general prices. But please no "I'm going to go" then a week before saying "Nope, can't make it"

Once again this isn't a official PR thing, just hopefully a good excuse to get out and adjust your eyes to the sun light and look at the most modded city in the world.

I am probably going to go for 4 days 3 nightsand will cost bout 3 bills for hotel and Bally's , it looks good in there. Actually Ill be staying at the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas in 2 weeks and will let ya'all know how it goes.
Im breaking my tradition by not staying at The Rio , for me its home away from home and very cheap cept not on the dates that we will be there in August, Ive never paid more than 79 bux for 600 sq feet of decadence.

What about the NoTell Motel? I hear they have very reasonable hourly rates.

I'll go!! I love going there, I have a slight gambling problem so it makes me happy when i can have a excuse to go there!! I will stay at the Mandalay I love this place!!! And I will bring a few buds....they like to get into trouble there all the time. Like for Defcon!!! We are always in troulbe there!! What are you guys going to do about a vehicle? I will fly in so I will have to rent one!

You can rent vehicles cheap there but depending on what you are doing or where you want to go would be the deciding factor as well as how long you are planning to stay. There is a monorail there now , I beleive that its online and it takes you all over the Strip to downtown LV.
If I fly I always rent a car but dont always really need one but I might drive there in August cuz I gunna be bringing 3 other peeps.

What's Defcon? Some time of weird techno club or somethin'? j/k. Last year I walked everywhere and probably will again this year. After salmon season walking 10+ miles in a given day cake... mmm... cake.

Im definately on land but we start our workups on August 6 till Sep 10. Thats our first little workup with many more to follow. We'll be deploying on the USS Abraham Lincoln which if any members around here have some knowledge on the Bravo class version of the 60 (which i work on at HSL-47) we deploy on the small boys (frigates and what not). Its a new experiment the navy is trying out with our squadron to save some cash. Were going to man up an entire battle group. Oh well i guess.

Smaller ships are deff the way to go man , sux u wont be round in Vegas but Im sure this wont be the only time.
The smaller ships rock for the small chow lines, able to run on flight deck, faster acces to land when libo calls to. Not to mention smaller lines to crawl through if your a pollywog while crossing the equator.

Word! Thats why im tryin to bust my ass and get into one of the dets that go on the small boys in the battle group. We'll see how it goes though. Keep me informed of any other trips you guys will be makin to Vegas.
