| I don't know how to make real stained glass, but I know I did a project in like 7th grade that looked alot like it. It was basically just a sheet of plexi, and then you drew out your design in the glue kinda stuff that was raised up from the plexi. Then we had some kind of dye that we used eyedroppers to fill in between the glue with different colors that dried solid. Not stained glass, but a cheap and easy alternative if it turns out to be too difficult. | ||

| Psylariser had the right idea. there are different types of glass/plastics paints that give the effect of stained glass and usually the same people also sell lead/copper material that looks like the "filler" i guess. http://www.renovastudios.com/ARCHITE...%20DESIGN.html the image on the top left of the screen is a window my dad did in that method. | ||

| I didn't use stained glass in my case mod. I didn't want something that heavy and was worried about cracking with heat expansion and contraction. I used liquid leading and gallery glass as Psylariser discribed. If you do want to use genuine glass. Start with a 1/4" .00125 high quality foil like Edco. Make sure the foil isn't aged to the point of oxidation. Make sure the glass is ground. Clean. Dry. And warm. Make sure your hands are clean and dry as well. Avoid thick glass and glass with a bumpy texture until you've gotten better. Make sure it's rubbed down well. A piece of thin doweling cut and then sharpened with a pencil sharpener makes a good tool. | ||

| alright, I'll get my hands on some practice glass and some foil and give this a go. The idea isn't a full stained glass window or the like, but 'accessory glass' I can encorporate into the design... hrm, as I'm a fair hand with electrical soldering, maybe I can get these shaky hands of mine working on little stained-glass fangrills once I get it down pat. Assuming that doesn't work out to well, but also assuming that I still have all my fingers and most of my blood, I'll use liquid leading and galleryglass Last edited by DuplexEmotions; 18-April-04 at 07:47 PM.. | ||
