Is that quad Opteron mobo even functional? Looks as though it's missing a bios chip and there are some proprietary PSU connectors on it. Wonder how much those would cost...probably over the $2k mark is my guess.

That's not a proprietary motherboard connector, it is EPS12V power connector. I see on Xeon boards I deal with. I think the Granite Bay chipset had to use one too.

EDIT: It also looks to me like that Opteron will support NUMA which will totally kick butt when some mainstream OSs start supporting it.

quad optron??? wow that is speed, and only linux to use it all and doesnt the optrons have hyper trandport so that makesa a total 8 processers that the software (LINUX) would see, WOW 8 total. now with a wildcat 4 356mb card on that, that would be cool UT2004

Hey, you know you have absolutely no clue about what you are talking about right? Hyper transport is not Hyperthreading!!!! Also a wildcat will not necessarily perform even marginally well at UT2004. UT2004 is a game, not a 3d graphics program or a CAD program man. Plus 8 isn't all that impressive either. You can run 32 processors off some versions of Windows even! (Data Center)

EDIT: checked data center specs and fetched link(google--I'm feelin lucky) for canada

Zenn I think you might wanna focus some of that higher-that-Mt. Everest overclocking and insane volt modding onto your modem, you have one fo the fastest PC's on PR and it's on 56K lol, it's like having a Ferrari 312 Can-Am racecar with truck-turbochargers at 25 PSI and over 1000 hp and a 40-mph speed governor

Usually when I load a page and I get a scrollbar on the bottom I just move on, but this time I'm glad I didn't.

14 minutes....BWUAHAHAHAHA. Ah man I tell ya....that just made my day. I'm all teary eyed now. Maybe it's just because it's after 5:00AM here and I'm feeling drowsy. Dunno, but I think I just woke the neighbors.

I wonder where I could get one of those Quad Motherboards.
I also wonder what OS I would have to use as well.
