So I was watching one of the many home improvement shows that FroggieGirl watches today, when I saw a Lea & Perrins commercial. They are mainly known for their Worchestershire (sp?) sauce but they also make (or at least used to make) my ALL TIME FAVORITE steak sauce which was Lea & Perrins Sweet & Spicy. Anyone who was fortunate enough to try this stuff, stuck with it. I won't even attempt to describe how awesome it was since I won't be able to do it justice.... Anyways... It has been almost 6 months since I have been able to find the stuff and when I saw the commercial with the website address on it I had to investigate. Sure enough, they now only advertise the Worchesteblahblahblah sauce. GRRRRRR.

I went to the bulletin board they have to see if there are other disgruntled Sweet n' Spicy junkies out there, and there are... There is even a petition they started to try to get it back... which I signed.

Yet more proof that running a sucessful website provides one with ENTIRELY too much time on thier hands.

Myself, i think steak sauce is sacrilegious. Marinade, ok, but no sauce. Then again my steaks are so rare they still moo when you cut into them, so that might knock down my credibility in this matter a few points. Steaks cooked too well lack flavor so at that point i could see why one might like steak sauce. i'll sign the petetion just out of the fact that i'm a fan of dead cow flesh raked over a grill.

I have never seen the Sweet n' Spicy but I use the Shat out of the Worchestershire sauce when I am cooking hamburgers or something.. I would like to try it but never seen it around here.... (I live in BFE)... I have had Their "Table Sauce" which is not bad but kinda not my taste ....

Quite frankly I enjoy any barbecue sauce except A1. I usually go for Shop Rite brand cause its cheap, but still tastes good. I never tried Lea & Perrins but maybe if this petition helps, I'll be able to.

i love steak, my dad used to cook it like every other day when he didn't have to buy so much of it to feed us. I was raised on it without steak sauce, but like overkill, marinade. i love steak, and cow meat

i'm a lea and perrins junkie. hmaburger is not hamburger without it.

Lea and Perrins Worchesteshire, Kikkoman's Soy Sauce, minced garlic, Newman's Own Italian salad dressing, fresh black pepper.

Marinade of the gods.

Hell yeah GK! I used to use it when I lived in FL and I agree it is the best, of course I signed right away.

AntiM: replacing the italian dressing with lemon and cream of chicken (or mushroom) makes for another excellent basting sauce.

If I need steak sauce, I done screwed up...

Gotta love Lea and Perrins for their supreme Worcestershire Sauce...

Personally though, My fave sauce has GOT to be Sweet Chile Sauce from the chinese food store... But only as dipping or on chicken strips...

I'm a graduate of the overkill undercooked school of steak, but I loved the stuff for burgers.

My favorite sauce is the blood that is excreted during the heating process seasoned by carbon fragments released from burned mesquite wood. It only works if it is still bleeding as you eat that hunk of beef. Damn, that tastes good.

GK, I too am a Lea & Perrins freak for about 30 plus years. I can't find the sweet & Spicy either. What really makes me mad is that I've enjoyed the "White Wine Worchestershire" for so long. Then they changed the name to "Worchestershire for chicken" and now you can hardly find it.
I've since and have had my family on the look-out for Lea & Perrins of all types whenever they shop. I'll have them add the "Sweet & Spicey" to thier list.

ya know, from reading this thread it sounds to me like Lea&Perrins Co. needs a new marketing and distribution director. With the popularity of the said "unfindable/discontinued" sauces, you'd think they would get the picture that people really want to buy this stuff.

Oh, wait, what am I thinking, they're a $korporation. Scratch that thought, lol.
