Well yesterday night I decided I'd try to kick that lovely tobacco habit again... all was going well other than my desire to gnaw through my keyboard and rip anyone a new one that looked at me funny.

As I sat here tonight in front of my computer after removing a virus that came from somewhere I can't even figure out. I shamelessly start clubbing pingu in the arcade, one of my fans started making a racket. So I opened up my case so see which one was going out - it's the one in my PSU. Lovely...hopefully it'll limp on til payday. Put her back together break the front bezel with a sickening pop. Well great, now I really do have an excuse to ditch this mATX idea I had that ended in nightmare. Well isn't this just getting more fun by the moment! Next thing I know I have a Marlboro in one hand, pepsi in the other, cussin' in a room with no one in it....

Eh, maybe I'll quit next month.

I know what ya mean. I'm always rushing outside on break at work to smoke. Sometimes I smoke 2 back to back on a 15 minute break. I work at Target, and listening to screaming little bastard kids all day is about as fun as pulling teeth. Sometimes my co-workers joke around telling me smoking is bad and stuff. Little do they know without cigarettes, I would probably punch them in the nose

Well at 6 bux a pak AK prices, a pack and a half a day is only like 270.00-280.00 a month brah.. not too bad

Or you could be like me, smoke a pack of cloves a day, and then collapse coughing up blood. I quit cold turkey right there. Haven't touched one since. That was August. Then Hell visited me. None of it was worth a cigarette.

oh man i love to smoke,im gunna fire up a cigar later i got from my moms boyfriend not gunna mention a aname but lets say its from Grandmas old country CUBA!!! i roll my own cigs cuts down on the cost ,and b4 i get everyone up in arms yes you can roll your own with filters big o bag of tabacoo and months worth of tubes for 25 bucks

I smoked for over 20 years, since before my wife and I got married. Actually we both were smokers. We both quit about 3 weeks ago, which to a smoker means we are still trying to quit. No real smoker who stops for only 3 weeks ever says that he quit already, he is still quiting, unless he is of that variety like Kayinstorm who has one of those special experiences which quits for him in a day. When that happens, you quit, and you know it, all at the same time.

I am patching right now, done it before, 5 months was the longest. We'll see how it goes this time.

Great job lc, me and the wifey are giving it a lot of thought ourselves. We don't smoke in the house, haven't since we bought it, which cuts it down a bit, but I need to face facts...I'm not getting any younger. I don't even want to think what my two mile run time would be now.

My parents quit cold turkey about a year ago, after my uncle got throat cancer from smoking, he's better now, he has a hole in his troat and when he talks he has to put his hand over the hole. He's cool though, I'm glad he quit too, him and I go out monthly to that field in Umatilla for parts (got my Dell Optiplex GX200 from there) and I'm also glad at almost 19 that I never started.

i've got too short a fuse and a really bad temper if i don't watch myself. no way i can quit smoking cold turkey without killing someone.

i'd have to put myself in a padded cell for about two weeks before i could begin to seriously quit.

But, if ya make it out of the realm of smokers, more power to ya man, hang in there.

Along time ago, my husband tryed to quit smokeing and drinking at the same time. And of course after 30 days , I went and got him a 6 pack and a pack !!! Drove me out of my mind.

Smoking in public is against the law in my city, hopefully it will make people give up that dirty habit.

No.. it definately won't. Also why does everyone call it a "dirty habit". I mean in the grand scheme of things there are things that make it still appear good in comparison. I just can't afford spending an hour and a half worth of wages every day on it.

Mabey if it was bad for you and didnt cost alot of money..orrrr it was good for you and costed alot of money, but its a lose lose situation..it makes no sense.

Why not quite and save yourself a **** load of money over the long run.

ok, this is one thing that really puts a roach in my biscuit. now i can understand that smoking bothers non-smokers. i'm a considerate smoker, i try not to smoke around people whom it bothers out of respect.

one thing i can't stand is people saying "oh, smoking is bad for you". Here's a news flash, breathing now days is bad for you. they say there's thousands of chemicals in cigs, guess how many MILLIONS of bad things there are in the air you breathe that will kill you quicker than smoking ever could. The whole thing with making smoking illegal in public places, on beaches, etc etc etc is simply stupid and probably nothing more than a new way for law enforcement to make more money by giving citations.

i hear they're trying to ban smoking on public beaches, which i can understand probably because there's too many smokers out there that just toss the butts out in the sand. Smoking is quickly becoming the next prohibition of this country. they tried it with alcohol and failed in the end. it will be the same with smoking eventually.

I don't smoke ciggarettes but I am opposed to banning of smoking in public places. It is a legal choice for the person to do (if they are over 18). If a resturaunt wants to make itself a non smoking resturaunt good for it, but thats not a county/city/state/national decision it should be the resturaunts.

kind of have to agree with overkill on this one.I allways ask if i can smoke before i light one up around anyone.As for a dirty habbit ,dont see how i throw away my butts in a ashcan ort rashcan aafter i make sure they are out.Thats a hell of a lot more than people do with their chewing gum i get to scrape out of my shoe.In addition its bad for you ,ya but there are alot of things bad for ya.In addition i love it when i have to walk to the store to get the food and se a person drive a couple of blocks to get their milk ,wasting cleanair with their carbon pollition and wasting fuel.the last thing i would like to add is if you never smoked dont preach ,you dunno how hard the habbit is and yes believe it or not some do enjoy it alot.If you decide to quiet ,more power to ya and good luck.

Dirty habit? Picking your nose is a dirty habit, scratching your ass then smelling your finger is a dirty habit, masturbating in public is a dirty habit, smoking is a habit - that's it.

I'm also very considerate, that's why I smoke in the garage or on the deck, not in the house out of respect for my kids. I don't smoke where there are crowds of people, or if there are children in the area.

Yes, lot's of people are hurt from being near a smoker, but it's usually by getting their ass kicked when they walk up to the smoker and tell them it's a dirty habit.

I will agree that alot of people that smoke are respectfull of the people there around, but for the people whos jackets smell like rank old ashtray and there standing behind you in line for something, that just pisses me off, not only is is a gross smell but it has on occasion it would give me a headache. So about calling a "dirty habit" I will change that to "smelly".
