Default Google Android

Just wondering if we have any other Android users on the forums? I recently acquired a T-Mobile G2 Touch (HTC Hero running Android) and am having ooooodles of fun with it, not to mention rubbing it in every iPhone users face and showing them how much better it is

Check it out

I'm trying to decide between that phone and the Samsung Omnia I. So far I'm leaning towards the Samsung because it's $100 cheaper and has a nicer camera. Still waiting to get a hands on experience though.

TK, have you seen the Android Market? Thousands of titles available already :-)

The G2 (myTouch 3G in the US I do believe) doesn't have a bad camera, its just obviously not as good as the Omnias. I had an LG Renoir with a 8Mp camera and Snieder lens, but the trade off between having thousands of apps and a generall much more powerful phone and having a good camera has been worth it so far.

I bet you'll find the same when you pick up the Omnia and really compare them.

The Hero is nice, I'm all for the Rhodium(Touch Pro 2) I like android, and that screams android + TouchFLO. But I am more into the windows mobile. I have like 80 apps for my windows mobile phone, and I don't think they all have alternatives.

The best app on that phone is Trapster? - Speed Trap Sharing System. . .

I use that app on iphone, there are a ton of people who use it out here, and its pretty accurate.

I've used WM plenty of times in the past and while the range of software available for it is nice, its never really felt like a viable mobile platform to me.

My girlfriends Dad has the Touch Diamond original, and while its very nice and fairly easy to use with TouchFLO, my Hero has a newer version of it called Sense, which is much better. Android is also soooo much easy to setup with all your multiple email accounts, contacts, address book etc. Everything really is so integrated. For example, I have all my contacts linked to their Flickr, Facebook and Twitter accounts, so when I go on a contact, I get every update they've posted recently... its brilliant. Try that on WM...

Plus the always on HSDPA connection makes Last.fm, YouTube and other streaming apps soooooooo fast I seriously urge you to try one hands on in a store.

My contacts have Facebook status, with spb mobile shell 3 the feature is added. Ironically mobile shell 2 looked like the iphone, mobile shell three looks like the android OS. I have the three panes that slide to and from, but the carosel are where the fun is.

Either or, I really have started to like android, but I need winMo for too many things. I'm gonna get my touch Pro 2 and then I'll go from there.

Well ended up getting the Omnia. Verizon ended up being the cheapest and they seem to have the best service. Been fooling around with it and I'm a bit undecided about it. It's my first smartphone and as such its got a definite cool factor--being able to surf the web, or im, or take awesome pictures is ridiculously cool.

That being said WM6.1 isn't the most user friendly--definitely made for a stylus rather than fingers. It does slow down and even freeze ocassionally but so far its nothing more than an annoyance.

The camera is flat out incredible--in daylight anyways. Google Android-snc00006.jpg

And best of all? It even makes calls!

All in all I'm pretty happy with it.
