It's a shame none of them are openings for mechanical or aerospace engineers; I know a few who are looking.

I wanted to be a test pilot but there are no openings for those either. Oh well, I guess I'll have to stick with flight sim.

On a serious note are these openings because they're gearing up for the 787?

I'm sure we have those available as well, just not that particular listing. If you know folks who are looking, and they haven't already sent their resumes to Boeing, then get them in touch w/ me.

As for the 787, no ... we're on a different side of the house than Boeing Commercial Aircraft (BCA) ... we're IDS, Integrated Defense Systems. Completely different organizations, structurally and vision-wise.

Yep. Unfortunately, Seattle has a reputation for going on strike every three years, which is really bad for the airline business in general. The unions out there are going to kill the commercial aircraft industry in Seattle, sooner or later. it's unfortunate. Lots of people are going to lose their jobs, and they're going to blame Boeing for it. But Mother Boeing isn't the one that wants to renegotiate every 3 years ...
