Interesting links an posts here. I am not a big fan of either candidate. This is rather troubling to me though: YouTube - Obama Claims He's Visited 57 States And not the 57 muslim states part. snopes.com: Barack Obama and 57 States

What bothers me is no matter how tired I am, I know how many states we have. 50. Not 58. Obama seems a bit .

Can someone who is more politically involved than me, help me understand why (if the things ive seen are even correct) Obama wants to ban rifles and shotguns, and tax ammo? um.... no thanks. I'd like to be able to stand up for myself in case of something horrible... like a revolution.

There were also a couple of lovelies that stemmed from this article across the pond.....and we thought our journalists were hard.

My main point being here is the fact that this made national news. Some random dem that served in the military tears apart McCains history to try and smear something that he holds dear. The ayers scandal has somewhat been kept under the table and only really mentioned on conservative radio. I guess thats neither here nor there though....The point being that he could honestly say anything as an excuse and the liberal media would accept it and brush it aside as acceptable. I personally want an indepth explanation of why he might associate himself with someone who blew up the pentagon and other government buildings. None of McCains dirty associates come close to hating America like Ayers does, nor are they proven terrorist. If friends will decide this election than I hope the guy with friends that hate other countries will win and not the guy whos friends hate our country, afterall he is running for the president of the United States.

Also if the McCains reverand is that bad, than what the hell is Jeremiah Wright?

Also is McCains money really that dirty.....?

Obama–>Rezko–>Auchi–>Saddam Hussein & Muammar al-Gaddafi
-Obama got his money from Tony Rezko who got his 3.5 million from Nadhmi Auchi:
-Rezko described his friendship with Auchi as “close”
-Nadhmi Auchi is an Iraqi-born billionaire who was charged along with Saddam Hussein for conspiring to assassinate Prime minister (president) Abdul Karim Qasim and stood trial in 1959. (Auchi gave fellow Baath Party members machine guns from his home for Saddam Hussein.)

But lets all make more excuses for him right. Fookin Koolaid Drinkers, drink up!

That's the first time that I've seen that quote from ret. Gen. Clark; however, ret. Gen. Clark isn't running for political office and Sen. Obama denounced those remarks. If you want to use that, then I can certainly bring up two words that is famous for trying to smear the patriotism of a veteran..."Swift Boat". However, I'll go on the record and say they shouldn't have said the things that they have said. They were wrong and need to apologize to Sen. McCain, who served his country with honor and distinction.

The Rezko money? Sen. Obama has, after Rezko was convicted of being a felon which was after Sen. Obama paid fair market price for his house, donated it to charity. The 10-foot strip of land Sen. Obama purchased from the lot next door was in excess of market value. LINK and LINK. Oh, Sen. Obama's statement about Rev. Wright...LINK.

You seem to have missed my point, Sparky. My point is in the continual "guilt by association" mudslinging that's going on in the media, both conservative and liberal. You are more than welcome to believe in the guilt by association theories if you want to, but in my book you're only going to classify yourself as weak-willed and gullible. I only brought up the guilt by association on the Sen. McCain side to evoke a reaction, not because I believe that crap.

THIS is what I'm talking about.

So, if you want to keep listening to Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Brit Hume, Greta, and the host of other right wing radical conservative talk show hosts continually throw inferences around like candy at a parade or plant seeds of unfounded suspicions, then keep doing so. To balance that, I'll keep believing in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.

Rob

P.S.

Here's a shocker...I had voted for Sen. McCain in the 2000 Republican primaries for the simple fact that he didn't go dirty when Pres. Bush's campaign (in South Carolina) said that Sen. McCain's Bangladeshi born daughter was his own, illegitimate black child, that he was a homosexual, his wife was a drug addict, that he was mentally unstable, and worse yet...that the Viet Nam decorated hero was actually a traitor to his own country. Just goes to show you that politicans will turn on their own.

EDIT: Yeah...nice sign-off line there, Sparky. Just further endorsement on how this country is being divided...

I didn't hear much outrage from the right when the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth made headlines by tearing down John Kerry's record.

They are grasping at straws. McCain is behind in the polls and electoral votes so he's taking the low road by trying to paint a picture of Obama and his whole worldview by his acquaintances. It must be nice to be so perceptive that you can judge the quality of a person like Obama and their love for their country (and Ayers and Wright also for that matter) without ever meeting them. I'm really sick of people saying "This person hates America.". It's cheap, it's petty and people aren't buying it anymore. I'm sure the McCain camp thought it would scare people away from Obama. Instead it just brought the nuts out of the woodwork. He's digging his own grave and he knows it. When he loses the election you'll know how I felt in 2004.

Short answer, he doesn't.

He does however support: Specific gun control such as the DC handgun ban and allowing states and cities to keep making their own laws regarding guns. You can't own a handgun in DC, in Phoenix you can take a class, apply for a permit and carry a concealed weapon, you don't need to do anything but register and wait to strap a gun on and walk into Denny's as long as it is not concealed. Stopping fly-by-night gun dealers dumping guns in cities. Sale of automatic weapons and gun registration.

He is not liked by the NRA, but he isn't going to take away your right to obtain a weapon either. Unless of course you want to buy an Uzi to commit a crime.

One thing I haven't noticed until this thread and that video Yunk posted: what's the problem with ACORN? I almost volunteered with them but didn't have the time. They've done a lot of good work down here in New Orleans and that link Estwingman posted is just a bunch of quotes, one of which mentions embezzlement. Embezzlement is bad but is that the worst you've got?

Unfortunatly stupid people make up a large percentage of american voters. I think Obama needs to drop his IQ down a few points so he can connect with these voters on the same level as Sarah Palin.

Maybe the same way Ronald Reagon thought trees produced more C02 than cars.

- Clinton aide George Stephanopolous

"Democrats understand the importance of bondage between a mother and child."

"I'm not gay."

''It is clear our nation is reliant upon big foreign oil. More and more of our imports come from overseas.''
''You teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test.''
''I want you to know. Karyn is with us. A West Texas girl, just like me.''
''I'm also not very analytical. You know I don't spend a lot of time thinking about myself, about why I do things.''
''I promise you I will listen to what has been said here, even though I wasn't here.''
''I just want you to know that, when we talk about war, we're really talking about peace.''

Yeah EstwingMan your right, racism like that is just freaking hilarious. I'm not talking about Muslims who get all butt hurt because a newspaper ran an ad showing Mohammad. I'm talking hate crimes against Muslims in the U.S. that rose 1700% in 2001 alone. Gosh, that's funny playing on people's fear and ignorance like that.

Innocent law abiding Muslim and Arab Americans, some who have been in this country for decades or longer, guilty of no crime other than their heritage found themselves beaten, their homes and businesses damaged or destroyed, their children threatened and teased and constantly harassed and threatened by ignorant ****s who reveled in the chance to show their hatred of anyone different because thay thought they had a good excuse.

I think I'm going to hurt myself laughing so hard. The fact that you think it's okay to be racist because it's not politically correct is just beyond sad. Intelligent conservatives don't like it either. LoL ...indeed.
