Thats right folks! Its time to show off your skills in a competition hosted by PCApex.com's and Appetitefortech.com's Membership. Modding for alot of people has slipped by the wayside and were starting to take notice in the lack of worklogs, so to try and bring back some of the glory of ripping the guts out of your case and influencing the industry of cases' were gonna hold a little competition. As a added benefit of updating your cases' bling factor and keeping your Pimp hand strong alot of very generous Sponsors have stepped up to the plate and offered some goods. On top of that alot of members stepped up and offered some of their gear to be given away also.

What were looking for in this case mod competition is creativity, workmanship, function, cleanliness, and pride in what youve created. Components will not be considered as a plus or minus in this competition. If you wanna rock your Voodoo card J-Dogg, go right ahead Also take into account that all 3 judges are extremely experienced modders and enthusiasts and that they can appreciate the little details.

Also all "mods" will be taken into consideration for this competition. If modding your mouse, keyboard, ect is all that you have time for, than do it. Were not gonna dock you points for not taking the time to mod your case but be warned that its gonna have to be one kick a$$ mouse mod to beat out a case mod.

The first 3 prizes are the winners choices. 1st place will be able to choose from the top three prizes, second gets second choice, and third gets whatever is left for the top three. All other prizes will be consolation prizes that will be randomly draw for. The only thing you have to do to win one of those is enter.

The Rules

1. Mod your case in any way fashion or form.....literally anything goes as long as we can legally post it here without having Uncle Sam shut us down.

2. All mods have to be documented and for this competition only! No exceptions to this rule kiddies. If you are found to be a fookin contest troll that is submitting an entry that is not just for this competition than you will be flamed and laughed at by our local troll killers. We have several very talented members that have just the right touch in making your kind feel like you look. Be warned.

3. All entrants must post their intent to join the competition and what they will be modding in this thread or the one started at Appetite4tech.com. However you must post your worklog at both sites. PCApex.com and Appetite4tech.com both have been generous enough to host this competition and both sites deserve recognition for it, that is why we must insist that all entrants must post worklogs at both sites.

4. At least 90% of the pictures of your mod have to have either PCApex.com or Appetite4tech.com with a date written on something in the background. This is for proof that its a mod that is being done soley for this competition.

5. All projects whether finished or not will be judged on the 1st of September 2008 at 8pm central time. You have 1 whole month to lay yo Pimp hand down on your case, make it count! After the 20th any additions to your project will not count towards the competition but we do encourage you to finish no matter what, afterall we all like eye candy.

6. You might be thinking about just posting your intent to mod and giving a really good idea and just see how you fair on the cosolation prizes. This will not happen I can assure you. Only active worklog entries will be elegible for the consolation prizes.

7. Flaming is acceptable to a certain degree between contestants only. Dont take this too far as the Moderators will slap the sh!t out of you.

8. Lastly but not leastly, you must be a member of both sites. Post count does not matter nor reputation, as long as your willing to cut your case up and share it with all of us here at Appetite4tech.com and PCApex.com

9. If you have recently started a mod and want it to be taken into consideration for this competition please notify either Sparky or Slaymate via PM. This will be treated on a case by case basis depending on how much of the mod you have completed. Once you have been approved for entry all pictures of your worklog must follow suit with the rules stated above, and have either PCA or A4T with a date in the picture on top of your entire worklog having to be transfered to both sites.

I know this sounds like alot of rules, well it is. Were doing this for the members and modders, and as such we'd like to make sure that only those members and modders that take the time to do a mod with a worklog at the time of the competition recieve the prizes and not some joker that pulls a 6 month old mod out for the sole sake of getting the gear.

Well, I will go ahead and throw my hat into the ring for this contest. I am modding an old Lian Li PC 70 full tower case. The pictures that I can take over will have PCApex and the date on them as well as any new pictures...

I will be entering with Project Storage Behemoth. It wont really have the highest end hardware either but starting out with about 10 hard drives should make things fun.

EDIT: I guess I should mention here that I am modding 2 $5 midtower cases for this project. Also I have started now and I really dont see any of you starting to work yet, what is up with that? Come on people get started out there.

As a mod for both sites, I can state that gas costs, utility costs, and the fact that I had to purchase a vehicle for one of my children had killed my modding funds. I still have a stock YY Cube YY0221 case sitting here that is begging for a mod, and I also have a couple of old 1990's server cases that scream for a dremel. I just don't have the bucks to play with them right now. Eventually...

I decided to join this competition but at the same time, give something (previously approved by Sparky)
perhaps useful to someone and add it to the list of prices ....
im speaking of a 32-bit LEGIT Windows Vista (Ultimate) DVD, still in the case, unopened, (read - not pirated)
for whatever place it may be assigned to ....

I just hope that by doing this, i wont be excluded from participating, since im very eager to do so,... for this will be my first serious mod in a LONG long looooong time (not done any serious mods since the PC Club modding contests)

anyways, ill start my worklog soon (as soon as i get an idea of what im actually building)
as i already signed up at Appetite4tech.com (no, i did not use this same nick, nor the one i submitted to the folding team) i used an old one (perhaps known by some of the old folks)
