alright, so i bought a nice used MK23 on craigslist for $125 with alot of extra's. i know that the LEM in the kit is pretty much useless on its own, having only a LED for a "laser" and same for the flashlight. what im planning to do was mod the thing to take a 9v battery, and throw a better bulb in it, which brings me to my first question. i like how bright my surefire flashlight gets, and i know they sell LED versions of their bulbs. i was wondering if those get hot (because the regular xenon bulbs get hot enough to light plastic on fire ) even considerably cooler is fine. as long as i can keep it on for longer than 5 mins without it being burned by touch. talking about these. if they do get really hot, anyone have a recommendation for a super bright led bulb? (like those luxeon bulbs)
the next question is, what kind of resistor and i gonna need to hook up a laser rated for 3v to a 9v source?
