| I was really into this about 5 years ago - I have about $2000 worth if stuff in my closet. It can get really addictive. About 3 hours from here a guy that owned a construction company setup an in door off road track. The building was huge - like Super Walmart huge. Computer stat tracking using transponders and such - real professional. I always liked the offroad truck and buggies but its all pretty much the same. If your planing on competing (I have a few trophies) check with your local track - as a rule of thumb they usually dont allow electronic speed controls with reverse.....or sometime they do but you have to turn reverse off. This is mainly to keep you from backing up if you get in a corner and taking someone else out. Chargers......well Ive got a quick charger here (like 7 minutes on a 2000amp pack) thats is computerized - pretty cool. Has different "programs" that can be run on the batteries for condition and such. Even if your just playing around either pick up a discharger or make on yourself - your battery packs will thank you. All mine is really is a bunch of taillight bulbs and a little box (not sure whats inside). Connect to pack - press button - lights up the bulbs to discharge - then the little box clicks off when the lights get real dim.......Im guessing to eliminte the possibilty of forget about them and doing really nasty deep discharging damage to the batts. Get a good charger (mine was about $60) - especially if you buy good batteries. I good set of matched cell batteries (this was like 5 years ago though) was running about $80 to $90. Cheaper practice packs (looks like Radio Shack batteries) are way cheaper - about $25. Yeah you can get alot more performance/fun out the expensive ones but unless your racing you can get buy. Well, the car isnt that expensive but by the time you pick up the other stuff this isnt a real cheap hobby - but was long as you dont suck you should just have to buy this all once. My advise would also be to buy a car that your local hobby shop has parts for, if you can. Well Ive rambled not real sure if I gave any info. Just dont cheapen out on the electronics - thats pretty much the most important part. Also you might pick up a few different crystals for your radio if you can find them - makes it nicer to play with others..... | ||

| Hey Clown, that body won't fit that car. The car is a 1/18th micro RS4 and the body is for a 1/10th scale nitro sedan. All the gear for that car is going to have to be micro or you might have problems getting it to fit. I used to race all over the West Coast and was a sponsored driver for Twister Motors and a battery company with some smaller associate sponsors. MY best finish was a 5th Place A-main in 4wd Expert Mod at the 1993 Offroad Nats. If you have any questions let me know. My local track closed in 1995 and that led me into computers. Once I find me a nice job in an area with some big time racing, bye bye RENO! | ||

| R U sure you don't want to look into the gas powered cars rather than the electric? I like the electric ones but I have more fun with the gas ones!! Just checking. Do you have a Hobby Town USA around you? Or maybe a Hobby Lobby? You can sometimes get a cheap start there! Anyways good luck and have fun! | ||
