Question Trackballs Vs mice

Ok, just wondering what peoples point of views were on optical trackballs vs optical mice. currently have MS optical mouse which has worked fine downstairs, but in my bedroom mouse space is limited so was thinking about getting the "Logitech Cordless Trackman Wheel"

Is there a massive difference in quality and accuracy of trackabll opposed to standard mice, bearing in mind i play a lot of online games like counterstrike? Will it severly hamper my aiming ability?

Default My 2 cents

I's say, it would depend on what you mainly use it for. If you do alot of fps gaming, trackballs suck (my opinion). If you use it for regular apps and stuff, a trackball would probably be cool. I don't go for the cordless crap either, for gaming that crap don't cut it.

i personaly use a track ball and love the thing ,dont ever think i will go back to a mouse. For some odd reason a mouse really begins to screw up my wrist after a while.(I tend to move my wrist with a mouse more than my arm) ,the track ball takes alot of time to get use to ,but if you get use to it i feel that it is just as smooth and percise as any mouse. Most people i know hate trackballs they say you cant get as good results with theim. As a matter of fact my roomate was complaining the other day about that when he was doing some stuff on my puter. But anyway for me a trackball is just more comfortable.

My main problem at the moment is the way my desktop is setup. Have PC and monitor taking up all the space. I have the mouse on a sheet of glass on one knee adn the keyboard on the other. works suprising well except not much room to move mouse. hence the questions about trackballs

I personally could never get used to a track ball. But I'm in thet same situation you are in, with limited space, and I'm sorta just making my mouse "work" in that space
I hope one day I can get used to a trackball..lol

I just couldn't imagine gaming with a trackball...but I won't know till I find out

Good luck man!

Then get one of those little trackballs that fit on your finger like a ring, and one of those flexible keyboards for the knee and your all set!
