I already dropped this idea to Lokie and he said I should throw it on the forums for people to sound off on. So anyway...

I was looking at my case today and looked at the ugly-a## 'Ibuypower' case badge that was slapped on the front. I thought 'if it weren't for that badge, my case would look just fine. I know! A new case badge!'

So I hunted around Directron.com and some other sites that sell badges. Nothing particularly spiffy by any means. I wished there were a Pimp Rig case badge that was offered in the site's store.

There could be EL light-up ones and aluminum/chrome ones and then standard raised bubble plastic ones. Maybe a bling 'PR' for one style and a sly-lookin' pimp on another. Anyway, those are my thoughts on that. A guy can always dream, right?

I had some badges made up for my "Chickenhead" rig in progress, I only wanted 1 but the minimum print run was 10.

I just kept a couple & sold the rest on eBay & broke even in the end.
If you want something really individual you could always go that way - not that I'm suggesting that you rip off a PR graphic.

I guess GK would need to know how many people would actually buy an official PR case badge if he organised a run ... it'd probably have to be a pretty huge number as it's a lot of hassle for very little profit, but you can definitely put me down for one

JUst one of the reasons for this post. Who would want one? What else would you like to see from PR? The holiday season is killing me, but after its all over I will get the PR grills going finally.

I personally could use at least 2 if not more. Maybe they could use a tribal design and have the PR symbol in the middle. That would look pretty sweet.

I'm glad this post came up...........I'm want to get a new case in a month or so (I have to recoup from my latest purchase of the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro and the Antec 420w Smartpower PSU I just bought myself for x-mas) and I was thinking of some case badges. I've been cruising around the web, looking at what others have done and I'm trying to do something different. Any suggestions???

Yah, PR badges would be awesome. You could even go a step further and make the glowing ones.

When I first found Pimprig, in the header the Logo, looked 3D and chrome. I have always thought that "PR" logo would make a killer case badge...

Glad I actually got up the guts to put this forward to Lokie. I hope this becomes a reality. It'd be nice to go to LAN parties, look around and know which rigs have pimps behind them. Like gang tags only... less illegal... but twice as kickin'!

This sounds like a great Idea.
We need some designs I'll make a few and I want everyone else to contribute.
The best looking one could be produced by someone.

EL would be hard to make, since you'll have to have an inverter behind your bezel, and besides EL's life span is pretty short, after like a year or so, it get's pretty dim... sorry if I ruined some of your hopes.

LED's would be more practical, since they run long, low power consumption and no need for inverters, just two holes in the front bezel

as for the logo

I think they should make a PR V2.... the PR on Lokie's avatar is good, but it would look a lot better if it had PIMP RIG on it, or something different...

or maybe make one type, of the case badge, so during LANparties, the case badge on each would be the same.. that'll look soo cool, like a clan or something... and to determine which PR logo would be on, we should have a vote or poll

Chrome would look REALLY nice... but it'll raise the price, cause using plastics is much easier, since you just need a mold, and plastic to inject onto it.

BTW: wouldn't it be cool if someone made an AMD case badge?? not the sticker ones, but one on an anodized flat piece of aluminum, with laser etched AMD logo on it!??!?! **Drools**
