One Year Anniversary

I was just sitting here remembering the first time I stumbled onto PimpRig.com. Must be a year ago, right GK?I thought " hey what a great idea ..... computer modding, come to think of it, why haven't I painted my pc yet? Put lights and windows in it? Water cooling?" KICK A$$!
The forums where really slow, you would see the first post become the bottom post on the start page after a week. I finally got a little time and posted a granite case, after a week or so. I was so nervous about people ripping on my case, then I thought screw it, I posted it and since then I have painted about thirty or so and I remember them all. Now PC mods are in the family owned local PC stores, LAN parties and even business machines are popping up with paint and windows. Comcrap even offers colored pc's now, I believe that lcpiper has been right all along, the manufacturers are taking notes from the modders and it is becoming standard.
Todays members are awesome. Now we have a moderator with big teeth, that will chew some a$$ when needed, I don't think any of the DD types will be here long. H2O expert, with great knowledge. BA that will put anyone, I mean ANYONE in their place if need be. Scapegoat and Jon the prong with that humor, everyone now has something to give today.
It feels like a family here and I am happy I stumbled onto this great site a year ago, my house and shop hasn't been the same since.
Nice job Gary, thanks for giving us a place to hang out and talk about the things we enjoy.

Insomniac, are we waxing poetic tonight?

You got me thinking, it was about a year ago when I stumbled onto the site. I was a lurker for almost four months before I finally decided to join in with the infamous "Post just to Post" thread. I told you guys then that regardless of how much crap you gave me for that thread, I wasn't going anywhere. I'm still here and I still ain't going anywhere else. If I were me then as I am now 1 year ago, I would give me crap now back then for my high post count. Follow that?

We have the best group of members that can be found anywhere on the net. GK, DW, Duck, LC, Coel, Goat, Putwig, Wixx, Insom, OMFG, Monkey, Jon, and countless others, you are the reason I stick around.

The site has really transitioned over the last 8 months and will continue to do so. Meanwhile, I am going to enjoy the ride and look forward to another year of being a member of this forum.

I joined because of Insomniac he's the man all the stuff he talks about and paint's. Hell I got a Gbox because of him. Don't get me wrong all you guy are great and Scapegoat has helped me out more times then I can count too. I haven't been here a year yet, but you guy make poeple feel welcomed.

I feel that PR is better now than ever before.

The speed with which everything got back to normal after a week of downtime, just shows what a strong and committed group of folk we have!

GK I applaud you for having the vision to create such a unique place. I really don't think any of the countless tech forums on the net can hold a candle to PR!

The membership is stellar, and anyone who sticks around longer than a month is really part of a family.

I have noticed that Viperz, Jon, and Taz have been absent of late, and I wonder where they are? And hope all is well with them.........

That my friends is a bit of an odd quality in a tech forum dontcha think?

Believe it or not, I was thinking the same thing about Taz and Jon. Then you mentioned Viperz and you are right, he's been absent also. I know Taz had some big things taking his attention, but no idea what's up with Jon and Viperz.

In answer to your question about Jon the Prong, I have been talking with him since shortly after I got here and he was a bit vacant from emails too. Finally about the 9th of this month he contacted me and told me he wasnt coming back to PR.
Yea. I wasnt sure what was up but he said that he wasnt having fun anymore.
He had been out of a job for a bit and I think it all got to him. I asked him if there was anything in particular but he tells me no.
I have to believe he is just trying to figure out his life and that is OK

Hmmmm, got me thinking there Insom....I think i first stumbled upon PR in March or so, no sure. But its been about 6 or 8 months ago..... All i can say is i love it.....

Hats off to GK, BA, Insom, Mist, piper, duck, putwig, coel, DW, everyone for making PR great!!
