It's nice to see intellectual property rights legislation being updated to reflect modern times. | Here the RIAA deems that ripping a purchased CD to another format is technically illegal, they just don't enforce it. I recently read an article where a RIAA exec was quoted saying as much. Of course that was right after reading an article where the RIAA was suing a man for ripping his CD's to MP3's. They accused him of sharing said MP3's, yet refused to divulge how they knew he was sharing the MP3's even thought the man had no intention of sharing his music. In other words, it's okay for the RIAA to use illegal means to uncover music sharing and you are guilty until proven innocent. | ||
