| hio p i m p s is it just me or is the loading time of PR a lil too long??? ( I have 56k) and whenever I load, I see this background that's covered up by images... why not delete that background... since that 10x10 pixel wide image has to repeat itself lik 10000 times to cover the whole page and 5hit.... I've been wondering if there are more useless stuff like that on the HTML or XTML??? cause the loading time of this page seems longer then other pages.... or is it just me (need opnions of DIAL UP users)?? just kinda weird... maybe you could structurize the page... or delete some useless coding.... cause sometimes it feels like it takes FOREVER to load also... another thing I noticed is that when I load PR.. it say done... with a blank grey screen, (with the xoidio ad), then you wait for a while, then it starts loading the REAL stuff anyone else has problems like this??? | ||

yes it may cover the page up a 1000 times, but still it loads only ones...if it loads once, it will not load again....that image is 49kb so its really not hat much to load... the site slows down becuase the site is powered by a nuke type sytem+vb forums...which are not very fast to begin with due to alot of code and a very generic type code to give overhead for other functions/blocks of the system once the new pr2 will roll around, everything will change. due to a custom made CMS (content management system) designed and developed specifically for pcapex.com by me. what is different about this system is that all article pages, will be static meanting every time pages load it will not have to query the database to get info....making server load less and execution of scripts faster and because there is much less code to process, pages should load right up. edit: btw with the new PR version, you opera users will really miss out on some features, due to Opera not supporing DHTML edit numba 2 o look at that new version of opera DOES support DHTML

i just tried viewing site in mozilla, and it looks like it works great in mozilla and i just found out from GK, that he installed opera and it worked just fine in it too so i guess new version of opera does support DHTML.....so all you mozilla/opera people should have all the features and stuff IE people would have

| Yes me too especially tonight i seems to be rather quick. I have noticed though the time it takes to load a page on dialup is really bad. I will go get a drink pop some popcorn and then maybe the forum page will be up, granted it is during the evening so it is at peak load, so anyways i am going to try firebird. ![]() | ||
