| Senor Cisner-Hoes | Hey everyone, As most of you know, I do computers for a living and several days ago I bought had several "deals" There were many cool things in them like these small lil keyboards (I'm typing on it now), plotters (like a huge printer), tools, soldering "kits" (has all things for soldering: solder rosin, snips, wire stripper etc). etc. However, the coolest part to this was the server. It was a big (7 feet tall) rack that was 4 feet wide or so. This beast of a machine was filled to the brim with "high tech" (high tech for my deals is Pentium 3's or equivilent) computer equipment. Besides this rack there were several plain ol' rackmounts without the rack. This is what i got . 10 "Network Computer" 2U rackmount w/ dual 1Ghz Pentium 3 with 2 gigabytes of PC133 registered SDRAM which includes 2 80 gig Seagate Barracuda IV's and 2 Intel gigabit ethernet cards 8 "Network RAID Computers 3U rackmount w/ one Pentium 3 866 mhz (in a dual proc board) with 1 gigabyte of pc133. along with 2 Intel gigabit ethernet cards Its got a sweet 550 watt Enermax too! Now is my favorite part. Each one had 1 3Ware 4 port RAID and 1 3Ware 8 port RAID attached to these cards are 12 160 gigabyte Maxtor drives. 1920 gigabytes of pure hard drive goodness. 1.9 terabytes if you will. Now for pictures. I have to backup my statements with proof for them to be believable ![]() Here are the first of the Maxtors I removed ![]() 1st controller card ![]() 2nd controller card cont. EDIT: 'Cuda IV's not V's Last edited by Gamma_Goblin; 15-December-03 at 03:19 AM.. | |

| Senor Cisner-Hoes | ![]() Lastly, the internals of a RAID case. If you see where the controller card is plugged in, it is in an exceptionally long 64bit PCI riser card. It even has its own power. There are also these smallish fan busses and something else which I don't know what it is. For those who are not good at math, between these 2 types of computers I own 16960 gigabytes or 16.96 terabytes of hard drive space, 26928 ghz of processing power, 28 gigabytes of pc133, and way too much networking stuff to care about. I'll go out on a limb here and say that I personally own more hard drive space than anyone else here @ pimprig ![]() Well thats all folks, I hope you are all as excited as I am. Brandon "terabyte" Cisneros ![]() EDIT: see the brown PCB in the last picture? that is the fanbus. See the bundle of wires between the 2 hard drive racks? that is the unknown one. Possibly.. ahh hell I have no idea. All i know is that I'll have pics later | |

| Senor Cisner-Hoes | hey guys sorry for not replying sooner, the PR downtime distracted me. The Maxtors are 5400 rpm. On a lighter note, it makes mass storage viable for cheaper. I think we're planning on selling em somewhere near 100 bucks. Sorry mate, the plotter's out the door. I havea quick turn around time on these sort of things. Im not gonna post the cost but it was less than you would think. I'll get some other stuff ASAP, but I already went home for the day. Enermax's are so sweet but they are slightly modified (factory modified) with like 15 molex's and NO p4 power connector and it has a short 6 inch ATX cable. However, those are easliy fixed by an extension cable or an molex to P4 power connector. Those rackmounts were sure sturdy too! I want to get my hands on one of those 3ware controllers to raid up 8 seagates but no time as of yet. In case u were wondering, the 8 port ones are selling for 175, 4 port for 125. They dont havea rear slot connector (it was situated in the middle of the server case, not even near the rear) though one is easily added w/ a couple o screws Stuff comes from all over, but usually from businesses going out of business or closing a store location. Here's the keyboard. EDIT: i not left handed the mouse was just posing there w/ the keyboard | |
