Default XP vs. Vista benchmarks

Hey guys, I'm really really sorry if this has already been posted but there's a million XP vs. Vista threads to look through and I didn't see this particular chart.

First one I've seen with in-depth benchmarks comparing the two operating systems in a variety of perforamce tests. The clear winner? xp.

Yeah, it pretty much blows speed-wise. As much as 27% in some cases.

Anyone remember how much XP sucked at first? Flakey drivers, slow graphics, poor game performance..

The additional overhead of Vista vs XP is greater than the difference between XP and Win9x. Of course it's slower.

XP didn't get a whole lot better until SP2. Lets hope Vista gets it right with SP1.

It won't matter in a year or so anyway. The standard hardware we'll be using soon enough will make the performance differences minor anyway.

Get Vista 64 and throw in 4GB RAM and a OC'd quaddie and it won't be noticable at all. Such components will be common as muck soon! With every step forward it takes a while to catch up, this is just the way of things!

XP was marginally faster than 2k at launch.
