| I finially spend the ouple of bucks and got my feet wet in the wide world of electronics (you know, capacitors and such) I built the USB powered flashlight more to get my feet wet then to get the final product, but it gives a very cool effect on my Keyboard and my hands since i used blue LEDs. Im asking for any tips for the beginner and any cool projects that a beginner could understand how to do. Thanks! | ||

| I loved those breadboards! My daddy got me one of those when I was seven or eight. I loved connecting the little wires, but I never understood what they were supposed to do. I didn't even know what a circuit was! I haven't played with it for a few years. Maybe I should pull it out from the dust... | ||

| I dont meant to brag.. but I'm in electronics in high school and I also do some work on the side. U know I make circuits and stuff. So if u want any schematic or questions u can ask me. Any schematic u want I got. u can also use the web.. For example I got a 555 timer and made an LED flahser. Its really bright to. I also got 600 volts from a 9 volt battery : heh but the parts cost like 20 bucks..I also found a great resource for blue LEDs cheap! bout 65cents each for 20 so it comes to $12. As I said I'm heavely in to electronics.and btw: u know those stero VU meters? The ones that monitor sound I got the chips and its very simple to make ![]() ok I should stop bragging..I'm just a nerd EDIT: the 600 volts thing dont wrok anymore casue something got a little to much volts..heh they were all rated for 1kV+ Last edited by Nerdz; 08-January-04 at 10:48 PM.. | ||

| useful stuff is kind of limited. the best "useful" stuff you can build are the flashy LED things like VU meters or clocks. a nice digital clock is quite rewarding. the breadboard is fun for tinkering. i lost power yesterday so i built audio amplifiers on the breadboard to amplify a little radio. | ||
