Default I would like to know if this is appropriate, please

hi, umm, I haven't been on in a while, and this place looks different; it's nice
kay, I have a question. well, a few
a few months ago, my friend and I built a coil gun for a school project, and I thought maybe it would be kind of neat to put up some pictures about it, because I did get the idea from a post here, but if I remember correctly, it was taken down because the link that went with it had information that someone could get hurt with. so, Im not sure if it would be appropriate to post things about our coil gun, here, and if it would be, how much information would be alright?
for a while I was thinking of asking a moderator, but, I don't want to be peskie.
oh, and the person who posted the link I was talking about, a little bit up, thank you so very, very, very much; if it wasn't for you, we probably wouldn't have known those exist.

thank you, in advance, I believe there's some laundry that needs some attention, now

Well, according to the rules:

So my rereading the rules, the only ones that apply are above... and I really don't see anything wrong with posting it unless making a coil gun is illegal or violates laws, copyrights, etc...

If you post it, and we don't like it, we'll take it down. No big deal.

If memory serves me correct, there were a couple threads created about coil guns that were modified by Godfoot.

But I could be wrong.

Ahh Yes, here we are:

Sorry to rain on your parade dude...

I stand corrected... Stare Decisis works here too, so no posting that then.

Thanks Nerdz for the search.

Yeah, it is due to liability issues.
We aren't going to be responsible (or potentially held responsible) when some dumb-ass with no common sense (not saying that you or any particular persons are knuckleheads) reads the thread and ends up hurting him/herself and/or others with the new toy they built. I agree that some of the theory/science/implementation of these devices is somewhat cool, but this is not the proper place to discuss them.

Long story short, in today's litigious society, we don't plan on ending up like McDonalds.

Edit: Perhaps the rules need some "ammendmants".
We could make our own Articles of Confederation too while we are at it.

the friend I was working with shocked himself with about three hundred volts, twice, so yeah. I guess I understand

and the first time we discharged about three hundred volts from the capacitor, I almost peed my self. I don't think I spelled peed correctly

thank you, Nerdz, for the link
it was in eascarface's post that I saw it; thank you, eascarface

That proves my point right there in a nutshell.
