Default After 3 years of wishing...

I finally own my all-time dream machine.

Found it on the loading dock of a prominent electronics surplus warehouse, and best of all, it was FREE.

Abit VP6 w/Dual Pentium 3 1ghz processors and onboard Highpoint HPT366 ATA100 RAID controller

I am now truly an Old Skool Pimp.

I don't have the Voodoo 5 6000 or the 3dLabs card, but I do have everything else. I have even better hard drives, instead of 9.1gb 10k Seagates I have 2x 73gb 10k rpm Ultra 320 Seagates. And instead of dual WD 100gb's, I have dual WD 250's.

For graphics I think a Voodoo 5500 AGP w/Hyundai TC-6 would do the trick.

The originaly post in the 'Dream Machine' thread, 4/20/04

That site is incorrect.

Voodoo 4500 and 5500 are codenamed "Napalm" or VSA-100.

5000 and 6000 are prototypes.

Let's see the case. The PSU mounting looks interesting at least.

Yeah.

This case might have to be modded or something. It's total pimp status. The power supply, though proprietary, is a 300w, and because it is so thin, if I were to say, cut a giant gaping hole in the side of it for a mod, the PSU would be hidden.

Right now, it has a Voodoo 4500 agp 32mb (faster than the 5500), 10/100 LAN and a Creative Soundblaster 16 , and 256mb RAM (keeping it old skool) For drives I'll most likely use some sort of SCSI 10k RPM boot drive.

Okay, so, I know this is your machine, but here's what I'm thinking ...

Keeping the original case the way it is, but incorporating stealth mods. Sure, window w/ etching would be nice ... but, perhaps making that door on the front motorized, putting an "invisible" fan up front for intake, do some funky lights behind the door, or inside the case.

Things like that.

Oh! Tinted glass up front, similar color (if possible) to the front of the case, but when activated, perhaps a temp guage or somesuch.

anyway ...
