| Apex Techie II  |  HDTV card deal? San Jose Mercury News | San Jose Shopping - Computers & Electronics - Fry's Electronics Ignore the rebate since it probably will not work. Keeping it in mind, is it a good card for the price? I plan to use it with Gentoo so ignore any supplied software. | |

| Apex Techie II | Re: HDTV card deal? The PVR-150 does not support HDTV. Here's a reference chart: ATSC PCI Cards - LinuxTVWiki . I'm sure the ATSC-110 includes a hardware DSP since it requires firmware and ATSC takes a very fast computer to demodulate. (Some programmers I know actually tried it. It took a small supercomputer with 8 Britney CPUs and a R410a cooling system to do it - not exactly your everyday PC!) As for a MPEG decoder, it's unnecessary since modern video cards have one built in. | |
