That has to be some of the most juvenile and irresponsible counter-marketing I've ever heard of from such a large corporation. The whistle blowing and barge are just blatent. And I am completely impressed that Microsoft was able to stoop to such low levels. Talk about shaking off the corporate image. I don't agree with it, but I am pleasantly surprised they did it. Shows they still have a bit of personality.

I would have put it differently.. ps3 = xbox + a couple games + kickA$$ network + realistic chance of games to come..

I don't like beer, but i do have to say what easier way to appeal to gamers, than show them beer and our console is still cheaper than the PS3. The whistles had to be the worset part, but the barge was just funny. The chairs for the people standing in line was too.

Do you blame them, they were killed on the xbox (technically the dreamcast, same developer, different comapny) and they finally got the console out first, with the right tech and they won. At least for now i can say all the PS3 has too loose before it will get popular, is the price tag, once it goes down to theever so expensive ~$300 range, then they'll be sales lots of them.

Inbetween the four articles i did in high school about the next generation of consoles (all leaned towards the wii aka revolution) the main thing i said over and over about was the PS3 was going to cost too much. It did and sony lost alot of after prerelease and ebay hunters, due to mainly, the cost.

I give M$ congrats, there working on taking over everyone lives, in every room, its not like the richest guy in the world couldn't afford to do that.

The PS3 looks so horribly ugly, but MS is showing how much you can get if you buy the xbox over the PS3. I like the wii over the other two. But it seems like PS is ditching the PS3 somewhat, all new game titles advertised on TV have been for PSP or PS2...

I may get a xbox360 under a few conditions... Xbox live prices go down, Halo 3 and Halo Wars, open source programming (I love being able to use my xbox to play everything), internal Blu-Ray drive.

I live in the dorms as a Residence Hall Advisor, so consoles kill PC's in fun-ness in the dorms.


EDIT: What am I thinkin!?! I want to get some water cooling for my computer and sound proof it.

Actually BA, I kind of think it was smart of M$ to do that in Europe.. because alcohol isnt that big of a deal like in the states..

Lol...depends where you live. In France (and most of midland europe I think), it is acceptable for kids to drink small quantities of diluted wine at mealtime. The legal drinking age is 16. Over here it's 18, but we have just about the biggest drink problem in the world, so yeah, it was irresponsible...but I do still find it kinda amusing.
