Default Anybody here a subscriber to MaximumPC?

Kind of curious if anyone here subscribes to Maximum PC, i just recently got 2 magazines from Maximum PC the first one i have says Head to Head April 2007 on the cover and the second one says Windows Vista special Issue spring 2007, what i like to know is does any body ever use the free disc they give or try any of the programs they have on the disc. Here is a list of what is on both disc granted there are some of the same apps and utilities on both disc.

This is what is on the first disc from MaximumPC Head to Head magazine.

I subscribe to the one without the disc. Even at full price the subsription only runs $12 a year and the stuff on the disc is shareware anyway.

Ok i was unsure how good the apps where, i just recently subscribe to Maximum pc an Pc World.

Yea I only get PC World and Games for Windows
You get the free gift CD with PC world every year, which has like a bunch of shareware stuff like this
For some reason they sent me 2 this year, both the same ...

I still have about 50 discs from back when I subscribed to PC Gamer. They're incredibly useful if you've got dial-up. Otherwise....not so much.

Yea, I used to get that mag also a long time ago.
Every month you would get a demo disk
was around 94 with demos like decent, doom and such

Well i tried one of the disc that came with the magazine and installed the Vista Transformation pack 6 and i will have to say it works good looks just like you have a copy of Vista running, it gives your XP the looks of Vista including the start up screen, Icons, Taskbar and all the other features that Vista has to XP.
If anyone is interested on trying it you can get the Vista Transformation pack 6 here for a free download.

i have been a avid user of the transformation pack since version 2 and amazling its been called "final version" since that version =P

Keep your eyes out for version 7 =) its going to have some nice new transparency effects on the start menu =)

should have just gotten vista to begin with
which im using now

and there is no imatation for it
