EPOX Board Users...Stable or NOT Stable, that is the question...

Greetings,

While parsing for my new system parts, I ordered AMD 2500 XP from www.DIRECTRON.com.

I attempted to order EPOX 8RDA3+ from DIRECTRON at the same time.

I was told the part was out of stock and that DIRECTRON would no longer carry ANY EPOX motherboards because of the HIGH return rate (RMA's) associated with the EPOX line!

Whoa...imagine my surprise!

My motherboard order is on hold until I hear something to let me know that my first choice is the RIGHT one...I like 'dem Asus's too!

Get the ABIT NF-7S, It's a wicked overclocker

, better than Asus or Epox

I was told by my local computer store manger he doesn't carry Epox anymore for the same reason, To many RMA's

I just hit 490FSB Asynchronously on my Abit tonight, no volt mod needed

I got my 2100+ T-Bred B to 12x220 in my buddies 8RDA+, so I ordered a 8RDA3+ and after much delay, I am sure it will arrive monday. Can't wait.

I suggest you order the board from newegg though as they are a more respectable distributor.

High return rate, yep, because people who buy from directon are generally thick-headed, no sh!t.

got a 8rda+ from newegg and no complaints so far ...runs great ,no problems with drivers (if you are running xp,had some little issues with 98) i dig the thing and would order a Epox again.True at the moment i dont have a high overclock but its a nice board in my opinion.

As for the return issue heard that also a while back ,but heard that Epox got their act together and biulding stronger boards now than in the past.

i know the FIC au13 is not the EXACT same as the epox, but its pretty dayam close, i bought one from fries, and it would not run my hdd's at 133, it would only run them at 60, took it back got another one, same thing.......tried the hdd's in 2 other mobo;s of mine, both ran 133 with no prob....im not to impressed with the fic.....if ya want a good mobo, go with the abit NF7-S rev 2.0, it kicks ass

i have been getting the utmost relaibility from my NF7-S. to me there is no other Nforce board out there. get some Corsair and you will be golden.
