Id like to learn how to overclock =D

Well, my computers only real bottleneck atm is the processor.

athlon xp 1500+
ddr 400 pci 3200 512mb ram
asus A7N8X Deluxe
radeon 9800 pro 128mb
and some damn nice cooling.. er with fans at least.

I guess what im asking is what can I do with that? and can anyone, or is anyone willing to help me oc this processor? maybe point me to some links ect or talk to me online *shrug*

lower you multiplier, raise the FSB and volatge till its stable.
Is yer cpu a palomino or thoroghbred core? pal's default voltage is 1.7volts I beleive, thoroughbreds are 1.5-1.6v. Google uAMDtool, it will tell you your core and such.

My athlon XP 2000+ (1.67ghz default speed) is running at 2.2ghz.

11x200FSB = 2200mhz, voltage= 1.7v

Make sure you have decent hsf on it, like the thermalright SLK-800 (with a fan like the smartfan2)

Theres a quicky about o/c. Some cpu's overclock better than others.

Hawk, definitely a Pal, they never made thoroughbreds that low.

And do what Hawklen said, just constantly experiment til it's stable.

jcarkeys, he caught me on AIM, helped him out, apparently he got his cpu up to around 1.7ghz, @ 133fsb too. Not bad from a default 1.3ghz stock. Says his load temp is around 50C
