| Okay, it’s a little on the old news side of this, but my timing hasn’t been ASAP during this whole switch from single to dual core, and not even near up to date. But I got a dual core 3800 X-2. What’s special about this CPU is the key to it all, this isn’t any old yea I got a rebate and got a deal on a CPU, nor one of those perfect stepping, this CPU was $SOLID$Necro’s. Being that I know everyone knows who he is, and knows what he can do, this is quite an honour. And for a really nice price, it was a steal for me to switch to the Dual core market. So as I got this awesome Athlon 64 3800+ X-2, I also bought a pair of DC BH-5 Kingston Hyper X PC3000 and a DFI NF4 SLI DR, with preloaded bios settings as well as a few others that run a nice bit of this and that. Damn good del I would have to say, I still haven’t found a damn thing to change in this uber tuned BIOS and to this day I doubt I will be able to till I buy me some DDR 433 to play with OCin even more. So know I have a board a CPU and a nice dual channel memory setup, what to do with it,
And now my nice little X-2 is running full throttle in a old school in-between full and mid tower case with a PCI video card, and as I was told, who needs graphic to OC. Shortly after setting it up on my Noctua U9 I realized the cooler is fricken awesome, and is ideal for any work my AM2 chip will do in that mATX case I’m going to use this Noctua cooler in. About the 5th day I got an itch, I couldn’t get it stable over 2.85 on air, after any load the CPU would jump into the 50C’s and I couldn’t have that. So it came to my attention that my freshly torn apart WC loop just couldn’t lay there on the counter until I got new tubing and such, nope it needed to chill, again….. So onto WC went the X-2 and then there after my 2.9 bencchy’s and beyond up to the CPU validation of 3012 GHz. The chiller running almost exactly like the setup for my Sempr0n outside of the foam cold box I had it in, ran the CPOU loads around 23C and I think F@H after a few hours got it to 34 35C. I ran some benchmarks for this and that, but since the beautiful Windblows Xp non SP2 was running it, the dual core driver doesn’t work correctly with things like SANDRA at least on CPU ALU calculations, so I get the score that if I tweaked enough my sempr0n could beat, I mean damn, that sucks, after I get a blank HDD around, (I got three under 100GB laying around that need emptied onto bigger drives) Ill get my SP2 disc out and get the X-2 running on a correct platform, Kind of goofy don’t you think ran every driver I could ever want, even reinstalled the windows updates, nothing, reading a few hundred tech reports on Dual cores and Sisoft its common to have a single core score in SANDRA when not running SP2. Damn the Man, Damn the Microsoft. That’s all for now at least right after you check out these default benchmarks and a few of the temps the chiller got me ![]() ![]() ![]() also this nice little CPUz Validator link CPU-Z Validator Database Last edited by s1ugh34d; 05-October-06 at 10:27 PM.. | ||

| Shortly (after the RMA goes through) ill have this WC loop running internally for the X-2 the clear res in these pics had a chip on the front lower corner, and it was enough for me not to trust it, and get a replacement. But heres the loop thatll be running 24/7 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

| You have my baby.... At least I knew when I sold it to you, it would be going to a "loving" home, and not end up in the hands of some monster with more money than brains if I had thrown it up on EBAY...lol You have quite a peice of Apex history there, that board has been in the ORB "Top Ten Hall of Fame" (7th place using "Sweet Air"cooling on a 130NM Clawhammer 4000+ with 6800 Ultra's in SLI, April 05) Here is the best run I got out of it a bit later with my famous "Opty 146" at 3.1GHZ+ (The top ten ORB score was around 11,800 with the 4000+ at 2.88GHZ) 12570 Futuremark - ORB - Project Comparison Here is a score with that X-2 you have now in 3D-06 at 2.8GHZ with the same vid cards. 5855 Futuremark - ORB - Project Comparison Oddly, that KHX PC3000 BH-5 is what I miss most, it even has more history to it... it was gift from "Zennzzo" when he built "Frozen $SOLID$" for me, I was able to crank it up to 280FSB with 2-2-2-7 timings using 3.6v! And if you ever tell anyone my "Secret Sause" bios settings, Ima have to kill ya... (lol J/K) | ||

| Well your baby got ultra cold tonight, but it was all good for him. It ran a nice 3111MHz and was benchmarking at 3GHz, running a nice cool 7Cand around 12C load. Havent finished yet, but it looks like its a sweet temp. One issue i ran into though, the temps and the tubing aren't mixing, i got the slightest kink in the tubing (perfectly fine at regular temps) and it swelled to a pinch that was restricting flow, and i though the liquid was geting too thick, until i poped the res cap and stuck my finger in, its as thin as alcohol and PC ICe can get. Anyhow, for some morebenchamrks see my HWbot profile, (we dont have a cpu-z ranking) (link is in sig) | ||
