Default Lower multiplers wont work?

I can't use anything less than 11 for a multipler at 200FSB, Won't work with 10.5 or 10 , Didn't bother lower than that..
It will work fine from 10x166 up to 10x190, then won't post after that.

It's fine all day at 200x11 or 200x11.5, even 215x11.5 works.
I just don't understand why 10 or 10.5 won't work with anything over 190, when I can go above 200 fsb with a higher multiplier all day long....

Some nforce2 based motherboards don't like the 10 and 10.5 multi's for some reason that is unknown.

some AMD CPU's/mobo's cannot use anything lower than 11...something about saving those logic points for higher multipliers....now I forget...can anybody else remember? Linkage perhaps? I just had a brain fart...

it the 5bit PID that the newer athlons use that cause the upper and lower multi issue because most boards only read 4bits, so you end up with 12.5 and under or... 13 and higher...

this seems 10x and 10.5x issue seems to be something different specific to the nforce2 .

as with everything related to the nforce2 chipset it isn't a set in stone rule that it doesn't work.
this chipset has some unique quirks....
and that's putting it nicely.

I have the B core. I will give the lower (9.5) and below a try it again. I also might try updating my bios, it's a june dated now.
Will a Barton, in general, hit a higher FSB than the T-Bred?

Yes. The slower ones, run at 333mhz bus, and the faster ones 400bus. Not saying you cant get the t-breds up to 400mhz, I have

I got the 9x multiplier and lower to to work. I maxed my T-bred at 217fsb, 215 is stable. I was going to order me a Barton soon, I thought they would overclock the FSB better.
Planning on getting the 2500 w/166FSB, since the 3200 and 3000 don't seem to do any better for overclocking the FSB, even though they start at 400FSB, unless someone has heard otherwise....
