| Apex Techie Lite | Ok, so heres the deal: my athlon xp 2000+ was running at 46C on startup and would reach 50C at full load on a regular basis (my case temp hung around 27C). Like many others, im using a ThermalRight Sk-7 heatsink with Arctic Silver 3. The only difference was that others were getting temps significantly below mine. So what could've been the problem? I decided to play around in the BIOS after reapplying the AS3 and seeing no change in temp. What i did was lower my Core Voltage from 1.75V to 1.6V and it brought my temps down to 44C at full load. Is this a safe solution in my case? do i risk damaging my processor? can i lower the voltage to maybe... 1.5 and run at even a lower temp? Thanks | |
