A7N8X Will not OC

ok i am friggin stuck, i have a asus a7n8x v1.4. it isn't the delux either, but i am running essently the same setup i had before i shat on my epox board. the only additioins are the slk-900u (with a 120mm fan

) it just will not OC at all. i mean it wont even do 167FSB!!! i have upped the voltage to 1.8 and tried differernt multipliers and everything i can think of, as some of you know i know what i am doing but i am at a loss here, so does anyone have any ideas??? please help!

no it's an xp 2500 i had to 210 on an 8rda.
like i said i have no clue

You should be able to oc atleast a little bit..it could possibly be ur memory holdin u back but I think that memory should do 166 fsb without a prob..but to get it to 166 you need to drop ur multiplier...also tweak ur memory timings...and I wouldnt run at cpu at 1.8v.

again i did all that. here is what is in the system right now,
Asus A7N8X v1.4 non dlx
AMD XP2500
Corsair XMS2700 CL2 512mb 1 stick
SLK-900u Heatsink
120mm big ol' friggen fan for CPU and NB
temps at idle runnning stock are around 31c in bios
it ran all night restarted when i got up, 28c (A/C was on all night)
timings are set to 7-3-3-2 ran that on the epox 8rda @210FSB
voltage is default
so is everthing else.
tried going to 170 fsb out the box, would not post. kept dropping nothing until i went to 166. i even tried a multi of 9 at 167 and still didnt post. like i have said i have tried everything!! i am about to break THIS board in half

I have heard that both ur previous board and the board you have now unlock the lower multipliers so drop your multi and up ur fsb to 166 and fiddle with your memory timings and you should be ok..maybe updating the bios will help.

try these timings 8-3-3-2...also update ur bios if you dont have the newest version.

anyway the default speed for all barton's (excluding the 3200 which is @ 200) is 166, so i am running 166x11.5 = 1833 i tried 167x9=1500 or abouts. would not post

everything is up to date, Bios, Drivers, everything. i am not trying to go insane with the fsb either, i feel 200 is a fairly acheavible goal. i have the equipment for it so i want it. i wanna do 200x11, thats all...shouldn't be this hard

change ur memory timings to 8-3-3-2 and set ur mult to 10.5 or 11x166 and see if it will post

it iwll post if i keep the fsb to 166(default). dosent matter what the multi is. but if i go one point above 166 it will not post. and the memory is now running 8-4-4-3 so i am taking that out as a factor until i figure out what it is.

well put ur memory at 8-3-3-2 at cl 2.5 and drop the multi to 10 and up the fsb to 170 and see if it works...also all barton cores are clocked at 166 fsb.

i know that bartons are clocked at 166, if i go past 166 it dosent work. plain and simple. 170 is out of the question, if i can't go 1mhz? how am i going to go 10? not trying to be a d!ck but this is p!ssing me off........

Try turning off AGP "FastWrite". I had this problem with my A7N8X-DX Rev2.0. I couldn't go 1MHz past 202FSB with it on. I'm now running at 215FSB.
