so do you run OC'd all the time?

Just wondering.. who of the PR member runs OC'd all day long? i know i de-clock when i am not gaming heavy. or not seeing how fast i can go. it's like driving a Mustang Cobra 150 when you only need to go 65. you could if you wanted to but why? Not trying to start an argument. just curious.

24/7/365 baby...the only reason why I don't drive 150 all the time is because I'm afraid of killing someone, or getting (another) ticket...if the speed and stability are there and it doesn't hurt nobody, then why WOULD you underclock???

I was wondering the same thing after seeing alot of people with really high Vcores. I run OC'ed all the time, but it isn't much compared to others. I have my Vcore at 1.625 and my processor is clocked at 2075mhz w/ 166fsb. It's a 2100 Tbred B btw.

[edit]The reason people WOULD underclock their processor is to prevent it from dying after a while....most processors won't last too long with a Vcore of 1.8 and above.

edit again: by underclocking I mean having the processor run at a slower speed than the OC'ed speed, not the default speed.

i dont underclock. i dont run OC'd all the time. i run at stock speed. never under. and the speed thing was an anology. hell my system stock runs everything out there. but i like the fact i can run faster if i wanna

WEll, there's a good reason for a little of it, but there are a lot of dumb people out there.

The only good reason is passive running for HTPC, cause I hate fan whine in good movies (or Samurai Jack!)

that's when you watercool the OC'd HTPC and have the fish tank as the resevoir...can't get many folds out of an underclocked HTPC....

trizzue, my pimpin' brother. But, that WC is better spent on that 2500 that you run, if you're me, bur my HTPC has the 2500 too. It's a big@$$ antec, and I'm building another barton to game on..

Both@3200. Or higher.

i ran my 233 oc'd
my 1700's oc'd all three versions palo, tbred a and b
and my 2400 is oc'd as well

well as you know rust i oc a 2500 barton to 2600mhz and of course i did underclocked but not that much. i underclocked my 2500 back do 2166 mhz which recognizes my 2500 as a 3000 on my pc. i'm running a swiftech cooling kit as you know too though. props to you though for oc your barton to a 200 fsb on air. very impressive. but anyways i keep mine as a 3000.

by the way buzz 4_20 they dont make a barton core 1700. sorry man i wish. the 1700 is an EXCELLENT ocing chip though.

i never claimed to have a barton cored 1700

there are 3 diff versions of the 1700
the Palimino .18 micron
the Tbred A .13 micron ran hot and didn't oc worth crap
and the Tbred B .13 micron and oc's very well.
