Default 1700+ Oc'd to 2411Mhz on Air w/pics

Gents,

Was called out on the carpet by Duckwarrior over my statements regarding my overclock of my Athlon XP 1700+ Chip. The only proof I can offer is through untouched screenshots and pics.

Here's the system details.

Premod Aluminum Skyhawk Case (for now)

1700+ XP AXDA1700DLT3C JIUHB:0310XPMW
Corsair XMS Platinum TwinX PC2700 256X2=512M Ram @ 5,2,2,2T
Asus A7N8X Deluxe Rev 2.0 Mobo 1003 Bios
Thermalright SLK-800 HS
Vantec Tornado HSF
Arctic Silver 3 Thermal Paste
ENERMAX EG465AX-VE (W)FCA. 431W Power supply
Asus 52X CD-R
Maxtor 80G 8MB buffer HDD
ATI Radeon 9500Pro Oc'd to 345/315
3dMark03 Score: 4312

Overclocked to 2411 Mhz, 438 FSB, 219X11 @ 1.75 Core voltage. AGP locked at 66Mhz. All other voltages are at stock settings.

Screenshot and pics are here:

http://www.rightclicknade.com/news.html

This was mostly a trial and error process of finding the highest FSB and the lowest core voltage that was stable. It does run fairly hot, idles at around 50-51C and load from 54-59C. Gonna be moving to a water cooled/water chiller setup to see how cool I can get it and possibly go higher on the overclock. It's been running this setup for about 3 month's now with only one problem with my previous PSU which was an Antec Smartblue 350. It was either a bad PSU or pulling to much power and it let go. The Enermax has been very stable. This is my main gaming rig and it plays Medal of Honor Spearhead and Wolfenstein ET plus a multitude of other games flawlessly.

Thanks for looking guys and look forward to hanging around PR.

Rob

BA...thanks for the comment. I'm in awe of your setup as well. I think with further tweaking you'll be able to go much further. Yep, it's running pretty hot but will hopefully hold out till I get my water cooling setup.

Buzz...are you saying I should run the FSB at 333? Edited the post as I forgot to mention that it is PC2700 Ram. I'm open to suggestions if you think it'll make it better.

Thanks,

Rob

i'm sure if you backoff the timings and up the voltage you can get some more speed out of it.

Maybe. It's running pretty damn hot as it stands at 1.725v (it's reall pulling almost 1.75v per MBM).

Great OC. I see you used the SLK 800u hs on the A7N8X mobo. How much,if at all, did you have to bend the capacitors next to the cpu socket?

i mean voltage on the RAM not the cpu, your cpu is running sweet.

ExcaliberPC.com about 3 months ago.

Regarding the Heatsink. It clears the capacitors nicely. No bending needed.

Dunno. Just lucky I guess. It is pretty damn finicky though. Anything other than the current settings and it won't even post. Higher voltages don't seem to help. Until I can get Watercooled it stuck at this point. Even with the PCI lock my NIC's were going crazy until I upgraded the Bios. If you can and have the means try the Asus A7N8X Deluxe Rev 2.0 board. Had nothing but good luck and good performance with it.

Thanks,

Rob

That's the WindowBlinds Theme I'm running. It's called Alien Technology by DavidK. You can grab it from wincustomize.com I think but you gotta be running window blinds 4.0 to use it.
