Default XP1800+ T-Bred "A" Max Voltage help

SiSoft Sandra says that the max voltage for my processor is 1.65 volts. Default voltage is 1.5 volts. I am currently @ 1909mhz @ 1.65volts. I need to bumb to voltage higher if I have any hope of getting to 2GHz. I was wondering that even though SiSoft Sandra says my max voltage is 1.65 volts, would it hurt if I increased it to 1.7volts? To do so I will perform surgery on the chip again by using my "Avoid The Laser Locks" technique, with a pin and some AC3 and carefully join the correct bridges, while avoiding the laser locks, to make a 1.7volt default vcore.

To sum it up will 1.7vcore hurt even though sisoft says the max voltage my processor can take is 1.65? Thanks.

My personal experience-Max voltage=whatever it was just before it fried.

IF and if it will take it, you had better have freaking awesome cooling on it.

SLK-800(A) /w Quad Green LED 34cfm Fan good enough? BTW temps @ 1909mhz idle around 38 and under load are around 42. Is that pretty good?

heh, my 2000+ tbred "B" core is at 1.74v, on a thermaltake volcano9 load temp right now 41C. Also 10.5x200 fsb too.

EDIT: Just for fun, heres the full cpu code:

Not too bad, not too bad at all. I'm pissed now :@. Makes me want a Barton or T-Bred "B" so bad.

BTW, AS3 is as conductive as you might think. That may not work. 1.7 is a reasonable voltage for air cooling. But I wouldn't go bumping up the juice with just a pretty case fan though. That heatsink is capable of better.

I've already done it once to bump my default vcore from 1.5 to 1.55 so i could bump my vcore to 1.65v in bios instead of the 1.6v with the default vcore. I will just use some rubbing alcohol and connect the new correct ones to make a default vcore of 1.65v so i can go up to 1.75v. I need a high CFM 80mm fan that isn't too loud and too expensive that I can get locally. My 82cfm 80mm sunon broke and was very loud, but should I get one and replace it with that? I am really stumped as to what I should do.

Get the Sunon. You won't kick yourself later. Or a Delta.

Hey-you could go looking for a high CFM TMD (tip-magnetic drive) fan-should have better cooling characteristics than anything else, all being equal-no dead spot for the fan hub.

I couldn't agree with AntiM, 34 cfm fan is harly even tapping the cooling power of the SLK800.

I'll fork out $30 for a new Sunon 82cfm I guess. Still woundering if it'll die if I take it to 1.7 volts.
