400mhz fsb..... why a low pcmark score?

alright, the other day i jacked my sisters apacer pc2700 256mb memory stick and stuck it in my computer just to see what it could do.... after an hour or so i got it up to 400mhz.... idk how stable it was but i managed to run PCmark and i got a score of 4200 pts.... based on alot of reviews shouldnt i be getting at least 4800 with my poor memory timmings... i think they were 3-3-3-7-1T.... would buying geil cas2 pc3200 ram get me alot better scores? i mean toms hardware guide shows the 3200+ getting 6500pts, of course thats using dual channel but c'mon that doesnt actually double the memories performance....

Is that your processor score, not the memory score?

no, my proc score was like 7300 at 2.4ghz

I take it that the memory is not in sync with the FSB?

The memory not being in sync with the FSB can adversely affect your memory score. With better quality high speed RAM running in sync, you would get a higher memory score.

nope my memory is sync with the fsb.... my mobo doesnt have the option to run lower mem speed than cpu fsb
