I have 2 cpu's and I want to keep the better of the two, can you help me? One is a xp2100 AIUHB 0247 8th&9th digits are 26 and the other is a xp1700 JIUHB 0312 and the 8th&9th digits are 28. I don't know if the 8th&9th digit is true or not but supposedly it is an indicatior or what the chip was manuf'ed as. Any idea on what I can do to find out which one is better aside from going all out to test the end all oc. I am short of time. Maybe oc both to 200*12 and run 3dmark with soft gl looped for an hour and choose the lower temp one. What do you guys suggest.

i would go with the 2100 just for the speed of it

What can you push that 2100 up to? My 1700 is at---1918, and I havn't really messed with it much at all. With some better ram, and knowing what the heck I'm doing it'll easily be up there with Fu3ls.

Go with the one that overclock's the best, if they both get the same maximum overclock, (which is unlikely unless you have a motherboard limitation) in that case pick the one with the lower tempature

I have had the 2100 up to 200*11 at stock voltage but I did not stress test it just did reg stuff for a week but the temps were up a little and I can't stand having my delta up full bore (I am on air awaiting my hdd cooler/rack [KIA] so that I can put the wawa back in). On top of that I recently changed HDD's so I need to swap everything over to the new drive so that I can use the new one for max oc (I am worried about hdd corruption and my backups and images do not seem to be working as flawlessly as they are supposed to (I think the problem there is the user) and I am so tired of reinstalling. Oh yeah, and I am lazy but I am going to bite the bullet and do the tranfer tonight, test the 2100 tomorrow and the 1700 friday.

Cool thanks flounder. But now I am really confused because are'nt the JIUHB 1700 the best (according to the art they are low end). I gonna do what a friend suggested, stop being lazy and put'em to the grind stone.

go with the 2100, mine got up to a stable 2.52ghz on air, too bad my psu couldnt handle it.... that 2.52 is higher than all the 1700's ive seen on PR or anywhere, other than the vapochill and ?prometia? rich guys.......

oh yeah but definatley try them out first.....
