Default Opteron 146, SLI-DR Expert ???

Hello all,
I have just finished my first build and when I go to power it up the only things that happen are:
the Power Supply with it's fans come on, the 4 Diagnostic LEDs light for a split second & go out,
the Vantec EZ-Swap screens light for a second & go out, the DRAM power LED lights & stays on,
the Standby Power LED lights & stays on, it never makes the Bios screen nothing comes up
on the monitor at all.
System specs are:
- AMD Opteron 146 with a TT Big Typhoon... CPU Fan is plugged in.
- DFI Lanparty UT nF4 SLI-DR Expert... all jumpers are in the default settings.
- 4 X OCZ-PC 4800 EL Dual Ch Platinum Ltd. Ed 512MB.
- 2 X WD Raptor 74GB SATA HDD installed in Vantec EZ-Swaps and landed on Sata-1 & Sata-2.
- eVGA GeForce 7800 GTX K.O.
- Plextor optic drive.
- standard internal floppy.
- Enermax Noisetaker 600W Power Supply.

I have been at this all day and I'm not going any where at all, I could sure use some help from the pro's.
Thank you guys & gals.

Start by removing everything but one stick of ram and plug nothing in but the fan for the HS.

If you get more action this way then try adding the video card.

You should also try to reset the CMOS for, it should be jumper next to the battery (30sec and make sure the power cord is unplugged) might want to do this first

What type of cooling are you using?

Could be the CPU temp is shutting things down.

I just did this, it didn't help. As far as reseting the CMOS I still have to try that, Thank you for your
help and if you think of anything else just let me know.

I'm using air cooling, I don't think temp would be a problem
because it seems to be going to standby right away.
Thank you for the help, if you think of anything let me know.

Just thought of something, DFi is picky about wich ram slots you use, on my slightly older DR version, you must use the Orange slots...check your manual or just try it.

I tried the orange slots, I tried only 1 orange slot and still nothing. What I did
find when I took out the motherboard was the heat sink screws hitting the
case behind the motherboard.... the screws were too long.
The other thing I found was a power connector for a SATA drive had come
apart and the ends might have been shorted.
I'm going to use short screws, try to start up with everything out of the case
so I don't have to go through all of this again incase it doesn't work.
Thank you

Hello all,
I have tested the PSU in another rig, it works. The screws went through the heat synk and touched
the case, but they were still isolated from the motherboard through the stock plastic backing plate
for the heat synk mount. I also did a clear CMOS, I did the short, medium and long clearing method
found on dfi-street.com. I'm about all out of things to try except a different style of RAM to get this board
to boot up, what's going through my mind is buying a 512MB stick of RAM known to boot up in this
board with an Opteron 146.... What RAM should I try folks ?
Thanks for all of your input
