| The A8N-SLI is an excellent board, and will get some decent overclocks if you do it correctly. I would start by finding what 3500+ you have. Download CPU-Z from HERE, and open the program. It will tell you what core you have (Clawhammer, Newcastle, Winchester, Venice). Hopefully, you got one of the newer cores, because they overclock way better, while still running cooler. Here is what I would try initially: RAM set to DDR333 (aka a RAM divider) FSB: 220 CPU Multiplier: stock (11x) HTT/LDT multiplier: 4x This will set your processor to 2.42Ghz. If it isn't stable, try increasing your CPU voltage +0.1v. Remember, when increasing the FSB, the RAM speed goes up with it. I don't know anything about your RAM, and RAM timings are too complicated to explain at this level, so just set a RAM divider by changing the RAM speed to DDR333. This will keep the RAM below DDR400 all the way up to a 240FSB (240x11 = 2.64Ghz). In fact, once you get a hang of a low overclock like 2.42, try going for 2.64Ghz. WIth ~1.45-1.5v on the CPU, you should be able to get it stable. High FSB speeds on your board are very hard to attain, so I would recommend keeping the multiplier at 11. Hopefully, you can sort out that mess and get your rig OC'ed. Keep us updated. Welcome to Pimprig! | ||

| I never replied to this post when he first put it up, I had time and walked him through the basics on IM. Tonight I hooked him up with FOLDING@HOME Congrats and Welcome to the TEAM! ![]() Now post some CPUZ screenies/settings when you find the sweetspot for your CPU ![]() I will let ATOR hook ya up with Prime 95 (His fav!) if you realy want to torture test it, but if it Folds and games without issue at the same time, that is stable enough for me. | ||
