Has anyone replaced this fan yet? I think how dfi set this board up is really gay with the N/B right under the vid card.. somehow my vid card must of been holding the fan down and it was only spining at low rpms and brunt the fan up... Anyone know of any coolers that will fit on this board considdering the gay position of the northbridge??? Could realllllly use some help from the pimps here!!

Just move your card to your other PCIe slot and you should be able to almost anything in there. Havent done this myself but i did try and put the maze 4 northbridge cooler in there and my only problem was my top video card. So if your not running sli you should be alright.

I ended up removing the fan and replaced it with a low profile heatsink. That works as long as you have some active cooling pushing air agains the heatsink. I did it not because it was in the way, but the fan started making so damn much noise.

You might want to try an Evercool VC-RE cooler. I have been looking for a replacement for my NB stock heatsink and came across a lot of recommendations for it on xtremesystems. It's cheap and apparently fits perfectly in place of the stock heatsink. I've got one on order right now and will fill in more details when I get it. Check out the following link

Mind you I have an expert but I understand it works well for the DFI Ultra D as well.

Nice find! The all-copper design should really help out cooling. I may have to look into one of those...

This all copper heatsink from Vantec provides some quality cooling at a quiet ~5000RPM, has a mirror contact surface, but lacks RPM monitoring. You also might have to remove the fan grill to allow for proper clearance. All I know is that it rocks in my brother's MSI Neo4 Platinum.

The fan that came on my Abit IC7 looks just like that. But right after i got it, it started making a buzzing noise for the first 5 mins after i would turn on my pc. I ended up popping out the fan but leaving the heatsink in there. it does a fine job without the fan.
