Do research on how stable the CPU is when it's overclocked, any heat issues, HS/HSF issues, ect. Your next step would be to decide if your willing to shorten the life span of your hardware for a few extra MHz. If you are, then I would up the FSB a little bit at a time. But I think it will probably hit 1.8 - 1.9 without Watercooling.

Remember: When overclocking, you can and will shorten the lifespan of the hardware. Warranty is also voided.

That board will not get you far with a locked CPU, it maxes out around 220FSB from what I remember.
(If your CPU was unlocked you could just raise the multiplier)

Do a search in the archives, Zennzo and BA both had it

OOps, my mistake< thought you had the XP version, wich is K-7

The K-8 version was good for 232FSB in this review, wich means you can get another 300MHZ or so from your CPU, possibly more

I overclocked my cpu to 232fsb which is 1859.99MHZ last night, to me it seems like it still can be pushed alot farther than that it had no probloms going through pcmark05 several times. It usually runs around 30 degrees C at 200fsb under full load, when its at 232fsb it runs at 32 degrees C Under Full load.

From what I was told, cpu's are made to have an average of 10 year lifespan and overclocing will reduce it to around 5 years. In my opinion 5 years is a long enough life for me and 10 years is just rediculous.

Just to put things straight:

Yes overclocking and heat can shorten the life span , but then cooling can also increase it. So do the math and be sensible and you won't have to worry about life expectancy.
