x2 4400+ OC Results

I have a set of 2gb gksill sticks and i can't run them mon their stock speed of 500mhz. everythime i do it 250x10 it only overclocks my cpu not the ram. ram auto. gets divided to 333 or 266 whatever it feels like it. so my question is has anybody been able to fix this problem. I have all the latest bios updates and drivers. All help is greatly appreciated
I think i can squeeze a little bit more out of it. please help

Did you purchase them as a set, or did you purchase a pair?

You most likely have the Memory in "Auto" you need to set it manualy to a 1 to1 ratio.

It will often be listed as something like 6/6, or 200FSB, or similar (When using "Manual or Expert instead of Auto)

What Motherbaord are you using?

Oh, and my X-2 OC'd nicely too..until I loaded BOTH CPU's with 2 instances of Folding@Home!

No it's not set auto. It's at 400mhz (200) 1:1.
Asus A8N SLI Premium.
timings are stuck at 3448 too.

Ok then, have you tried any of this?

Set LDT to 4x
NB Chipset voltage to 1.6 or 1.7v
CPU voltage to 1.45~1.5v (Keep temps under 50c)

You could aslo try 2T timings, (CPC off) but that kills performance.

Get CPUZ and CBID, they are very handy utilities.

I am not sure how good that board is, ABIT has had some pretty poor results on the FSB lately with certain models...get a DFI next time

Yeah I will go DFI. It was too late once I ordered this one. I got it mostly for SLI. and never got the 2nd card. Crappy. will try your variation though thnx

I got it 270MHZ. I figured what was wrong. changing voltage seemed to help. I lowered it down to 2.6 it was 2.8-2.9.thnx
