| http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=103 This is a great program for testing stability. You'll know when it gives you an error... The best thing about it is, you can run a torture test in the background...it's called the small FFT's. It shouldn't slow down your computer much, and will still find problems, if any. I would say at least 4hrs without an error would be a good rule of thumb, but most people run it for 24hrs+. I lost a little stability when I moved my computer upstairs (it's WAY hotter up here), and it "only" runs P95 for about 5 and a half hours now. Oh well, i'll get the air moving better, and it'll be stable again. | ||

| Apex Techie Lite | Yeah, just bring it down a bit. I got my 4000+ all the way to 2.9ghz and it ran 3dmark fine, but it was way off being stable. I eventually had to go all the way down to 2.83 for prime95 to be stable. Have you run any stress tests at all? I'd recommend a mixture of OCCT and prime95 to find your max stable speed. OCCT sometimes misses stuff, but the test only lasts 30 mins so its good to use bewtween minor ajustments. Once you've found the max speed occt will pass at, then start cranking it downwards until its runs prime95 for 8 hours (or however long you want). | |

Or you could try giving your proc more volts, perhaps look at the voltage and timings on your memory as well as possibly introducing a divider. Not saying it's a sure fire way to keep that oc but it's worth trying before you back it down.

If your RAM is set at "DDR400", then it'll run at double the rate of your FSB setting. Athlon 64's run 200Mhz FSB stock. If you leave your RAM at DDR400 (1:1 ratio), and turn your FSB to 220Mhz, you'll get DDR440.

| sorry for the lack of updatezor but yeah i backed my PC down to 230 mhz xD and my RAM can only run 220mhz at 2.8v (2-2-2-5) =/ lol xD EDIT: thanks mattspc for telling me the RAM can run 220 mhz ![]() EDIT 2: btw what's the ideal voltage for a 3000 winnie to run at 230 mhz? i mean, everytime i run prime95, my PC wouldnt pass it =/. just for like 2 minutes and i get the halted thing =/ so lol helllpp xD Last edited by KiwiFlavor; 15-December-05 at 09:05 PM.. | ||
