Dual core Opty. You should be able to get better clocks out of it than my X2 would.

Are we going to see another overclocking frenzy like with the CABNE and YE series?

If you can't get it stable...give it more voltage! I just had to give my 1.55v setting a 4% boost for an even more stable computer (I get occasional early work unit endings, so more voltage is the cure!!!). Of course, don't forget about temps. These dual core processors get HOT quickly. With my Zalman 9500, though, i'm sitting at 39-40 degrees full load (both cores) with 1.6v.

What cooler did you get again?

Nice overclock, though! Push it up to 2.7 so that you don't look so evil, LOL.

baisically. follow any normal a64 overclocking guide, except be forwarned that these processors are VERy finaky. So take loads of care when working with em.

The only real difference is that it needs more voltage for stability. I'm runnin ~1.6 volts right now for 2.61Ghz stable with my X2 3800+, but that Opteron will probably handle it with a little less volts (like 1.45 or 1.5).

The most important thing to say for the x2's that's different to anything else would be the temps. They run alot hotter.

What kind of scores did you get with your 148 Oppy?

PM me with your settings, or post here, from your 148 trial runs.
Interested in voltages for ram and cpu.

thanks..

Nice work, let us know when you get to 3.0GHZ

I'm thinking I should have bought another 146 when I bought the first. I've never had to do so little work, and the thing is rock steady and SILENT with the fans throttled off idling at 44C. If I weren't pulled in so many directions I would already have built a twin and tossed all my sockA stuff for good.

It will do all the way up to 2.9GHz. Anything higher will not boot.
